Bikini is voted in as Central Carolina ES Club's ENGLISH SETTER OF THE YEAR 2009. Many thanks to all who have been so supportive of her and us during her career. We had so much fun  and made so many friends and memories. Its been the time of our lives.

Harper is home and loving every minute with her relatives. She will be having her babies later this month.

Year End 2009

Harper, Ch. Editions Good Morning America, was in the ring with Will Alexander for part of the year . She started the year by winning BOS at all 3 specialties including the ESAA specialty right before Westminster. It was an amazing start to a great year for Harper who finished the year in the #1 ES (Can) position with 19 Group Ones, numerous Group placements and multiple BIS's. We are thrilled to have her home and enjoying every minute of having her here.

Bikini, Ch. Editions Radioactive, took up where Harper left off . In 7 weekends of showing she finished her championship , won 15 Group placements including 6 Group Ones , and finished #2 ES right behind her sister. She was undefeated in breed competition ,and in her last weekend of shows defeated a top ranked US champion each day for BB. In July, Bikini was bred by frozen semen to Dual Ch. Set'r Ridge's Solid Gold (Hadji) and whelped a pretty orange girl for us...REESE! When Reese was a mere 7 weeks old, Karen took Bikini out for a whirl in the showring and came home with a Group 2 placement...owner/handled. Karen and Bikini have always had a special relationship and it shows when they are in the ring together.

Sealy, Ch. Editions Flight Attendant, started her year right by winning an Award of Merit at the huge ESAA Specialty in NY over Westminster weekend. It was a great way to start to year, and Sealy was at the absolute top of her game. She followed that up with another BIS win, and 7 Group wins to finish the year #5 ES. Sealy returned to the whelping box near the end of the year and produced a beautiful healthy litter . She is now retired from active duty, and is watching her kids take over where she left off.

Mid year, Larry and Mary Coldiron sent their two Jeep/Sealy kids to visit Will . Ch. Editions Pursuit of Happiness, TJ, finished his title with a flurry of big wins, including multiple wins over specials and a Group 3 to top it off. He also received his OFA Hip (Good) and OFA Elbow numbers.

Ava, Ch. Editions The Barefoot Contessa, joined her brother in finishing in a blaze of glory and also had wins over specials. These two youngsters are among the brightest of our younger generation, and we can't wait to see where they go from here.

Katrine's boy Delta, Ch. Windjammer Setterama's Delta, won lots of Group placements as well as a Group One with limited showing and always owner handled. He 's one to watch for in 2010. He is sired by Harper and Bikini's BIS brother, Leo, Ch.Editions The Aviator, and bred by Gloria Owens.

Martin Sondey and Helen Porter have their boys Truman and Jack primed and ready to go in 2010. Both are in big coat, bodied up and ready to hit the ring, although keeping Truman's coat from dragging the ground seems to be a constant project for all of us!

The Luksa family in NJ had a very successful year with Duchess , Editions Navigator JH,HD. Duchess is pointed in the show ring, but her big claim to fame is BIRD DAWG!! She's really made us so proud! This girl can hunt!! Duchess finished both of her hunt titles in "09 as well as getting multiple legs on the very difficult Senior Hunter title. Amazing!

Leo, Ch. Editions The Aviator, owned by Lisa Leavelle, while used only on very selected bitches is producing some beautiful youngsters. He has a gorgeous bitch puppy in Finland that is all the rage over there. Lourdes Fernandez has a hot young daughter that already has some big wins under her belt at 6 months old. She is one moving machine! One of Leo's stars last year was the famous Marcelo, Ch. Melwood's The Blue Brazilian, who finished as a puppy and took most of his points and a BISweeps win over specialty weekends. Leo might even venture back into the ring himself this year...ya never know!

Ike, Ch. Editions House of Blues, is so pleased with his kids too. Faith Grogan's boy Spencer , R Own Riddles In The Sand, is tearing up the agility rings as well as accumulating a specialty major. LOVE THOSE PERFORMANCE DOGS! His sister, Dancer, R Own's Hula Dancer won multiple majors in one incredible weekend. Judy Graef and Cyndi O'Brien of Manlove Setters, finished their Dreamy with back to back big majors and wins over specials. Several other Ike kids also had nice wins in the show ring.

Jeep is still doing well at 12+ years of age as is Barbie (also 12+). Karen says they are so spoiled now they only want to stay in the bedroom at night. Jack Johnson's Jeep boy out of his specialty winning girl Jolly received numerous points last year as well as clearing OFA Hips, Elbows and Thyroid. Way to go Desi.

Many, many thanks to all our friends who are our dog family and have given our babies great homes and great opportunities, you make all the work totally worthwhile. I am certain I have inadvertently left some dogs off this e-mail, my short term memory fails at times, ask Karen! Please feel free to add to my post and share anything I have forgotten. Our friendship with each of you has given us so much fun and happiness.

Happy New Year to each and everyone of you!!

Conny and Karen

Not to be outdone, Sealy, Ch. Editions Flight Attendant, made her debut by winning BEST IN SHOW in her first show, and also won Group 1st at each of her shows in her debut weekend.

Both girls ventured to NJ for the Garden Specialtes and we all had a great time. Karen and I really had a blast with our friends up North who we just don't see often enough. :D

Sealy won an Award of Merit at the big ESAA Specialty on Sunday in her only appearance. The entry was approximately 100 ES!! Way to go Sealy!

Harper made a clean sweep of BOS at the Hudson and ESAA Specialties, and The Big Apple Sporting Assoc. Quite a nice weekend for Miss Harper who defeated well over 100 bitches for the weekend.
