Entrance to the Eco Village Chontal
The Eco Village Chontal is an initiative of a group of friends from different parts of Ecuador, who all share a dream of living in an ecological way. It is designed according to permaculture principles as a practical way towards sustainability. We aim to work closely with the surrounding community and promote bioregional autonomy, to reach self-suffiency of the region.
Our Eco Village has the objective of constituting itself as a practical ecological training center. Our actions are supported by a network of friends all around the world, providing a source of international volunteers who come and live with us.
We are currently seeking partners to establish an Ecuadorian Eco Village Network. We are already linked to the ENA (Ecovillage Network of the Americas) and the GEN (Global Ecovillage Network), which consists of over 25,000 communities around the planet.
