Meeting the Characters.
What started out as innocent exploring, soon turned into a massacre of her tribe. Echo had just entered the desert, only once, but the thieves who lived there found out because of a hidden spy. They massacred her people, and she narrowly escaped with her stallion Firefly. Meeting a naga named Leon on her journey into the desert for the first, made Echo have a strong feeling that he was one to be trusted. On countless occasions, he'd helped her escape an attacking naga, the deserts, and even gave her protection until they were far from the thieves. Two yeras soon pass, however, and the two have not seen each other. Echo now has a job as a guide, and sometimes a smuggler, and gives those who need it safe passage through the swamps, beaches, plains, mountains, and even the forests.
During winter of the second year, Echo decides to go visit Leon, only to find him in a battle against an old enemy. She steps in when it seems Leon can do no more and soon, she finds herself tending to the injured naga, Leon. During her battle, however, Echo discovered she'd been possessing some kind of power that mad eher lose control and actually enjoy the fighting and the vblood she saw only enticed her more. After healing, Leon offers to train her until she can control herself in battle, and she agrees to accept his help. Soon the training is about to end after four long and hard years of it, but Leon has seemingly gone missing. Echo must now find him if she wants to see her friend alive, but does it mean making more sacrifices and is she willing to do so to save her friend from hsi captives? Or is there another way?
Echo: Echo is the daughter of an elfin tribe. Her father died when she was younger and now, in human years she is around eighteen or twenty though, in her elfin years, she is merely just turning into a teenager. After her village is destroyed, her mother murdered, she flees and starts a new life on her own, with her only remaining friend in the world, Firefly. Deep within this young elf, is a dark power source that has yet to be discovered. What's worse, she knows nothing about it's true extent and can not control it for everytime it is released, she seems to lose control, not rmembering anything when she gains control again.
Leon: Leon is from the race of the Nagas. He once worked with the thieves of the desert, but after helping Echo escape their grasp twice, he became their enemy and is now hunted by them. He becomes Echo's friend, and perhaps he may become more than just a friend. He has agreed to teach Echo control over her dark powers. He is a secretive person who doesn't let anyone into his personal life, and he holds secret more knowledge of Echo's power than he lets on.
The Thieves and Nagas: These are the thieves who basically control the deserts of the world. They make pacts with surrounding villages saying that villagers are to remain out of the deserts. If this pact is broken, then the thieves destroy the villages and take those who broke the pact back to their hideout and use them as slaves. The thieves have gained the trust and assisstance of the nagas in the desert, and with their help, make sure that no one breaks the pacts. Why the thieves are hiding out in the desert is unkown, for each town, village, and city fears them. So what reason do they have to hide?
