Steve Nicholas rescued a point for bottom club Northwich Victoria with only 10 minutes to go at Wincham Park.

Nicholas shot past James Bittner in the 80th minute to score for Northwich.

Exeter took the lead 10 minutes earlier when Mark Foran shot past his own keeper.

And Vics goalkeeper Connett denied striker Sean Devine from 20 yards to keep his team in the game before Nicholas equalised.

EXETER CITY 2-1 ALDERSHOT TOWN

Grecians defender Alex Jeannin sealed the points for City 7 minutes from time today in the vital 6-pointer against play-off rivals Aldershot Town.

The shots were reduced to 10 men in the 26th minute when Tony Shields was sent off for headbutting City captain Glenn Cronin.

Sean Devine put City in front against the Shots in the 63rd minute when he met Alex Jeannin's corner and slotted the ball home easily.

9 minutes from time, Tim Sills got an equaliser for Aldershot when he headed home a cross from substitute John Nutter's free kick.

But Jeannin sealed the points for City just 2 minutes later when he hit a right-footed strike after Sean Devine's shot was parried by keeper Richard Barnard.
