The Avion Incident
The Avion Sector is positioned just outside the galactic spiral, and is a lifeless area of deep space. Known only because a few hundred years ago an imperial ship accidently jumped there, where the captain, a certain Maximus Avion made a deal with an alien creature to allow his ship to return home. Here is a transcript of a small section of his court-marshal:

++Attending are the honourable members, Fleet Admiral Tobias, and Inquisitor Vogtsgauern (Classified)++
++Inquisior Vogtsgauern++ The charges set against you are thus, Collaberation with Xenos, Willing Collaberation with Xenos, Herrasy, Murder of Both Inquisitorial and Adeptus Mechanicus Personal and finally, loss of a valuable artifact. How do you plead?
++Avion++ Inocent.
++Fleet Admiral Tobias++ Baliff please obtain the correct plea.
+++Inordable Screams+++
++Avion++ Guilty +cough+ Sirs.
++Admiral++ Excellent we may continue. The other lesser charges are wavered as you will at the end of this hearing be executed.
++Inquisitor++ Recite for our benefits what happened on your ship after you left the dig site.
++Avion++ After leaving the plannet we set course for Mars. Carrying the object in our hold. It was a large obelisk, and the mechanicus onboard were very excited, they kept muttering something about Terra, or formation or some culmination of the two, i could barely understand them. Anyway, once we had been in the immaterium for two weeks the officer of the watch reported a problem, our navigator had died and, unoticed for us we had been flying blind for something like three days.We immediately dropped out of the immaterium and began to try and plot our position. +Coughs and moans of pain+
++Inquisitor++ Continue!
++Avion++ We were unable to ascertain our position, apart from being in a giant asteroid field there were no recognisable stars, and without our navigator we were lost. We tried in vain for three weeks to desipher our location, but all attempts failed. Finally we were aproached by a god like being of amazing power. +more screams+
++Admiral++ There is only one God and that is he on Terra!
++This creature++ Ordered us to hand the obelisk to him, and in return it would tell us where we were. The mechanicus and Inquisitorial representatives were unwilling so we removed them
++Admiral++ STOP SMILLING!
++Avion++ +Laughs amid screams of pain+ Th...Come....Us! Yu.. Alldead.. +Laughter+ All dead!
++++Avion Terminated++++
Now a series of systems has emerged in the sector. The asteroids that were there have all but dissapeared. numerous fleets have been disspatched to discover what lies here.
- Imperials, The Imperials come to claim the worlds as their own, and possibly even find out what really happened all those years ago. With nearly Infinite resources offered to them through the inquisition, and the Adeptus mechanicus their defeat will be a hard thing to bring about.
- Tau, The Tau arrive to what they see as a perfectly viable area of collonisation, devoid of current civilisation, and densely filled with enhabbitable systems it is perfect for them, and so close to their own empire that their reinforcements can quickly be deployed. Little do they know of what other things have happened, Innocently they have gone about taking control of worlds that many others greedily look upon.
- Orks, The Orks arrive, as they always do to invade and massacre. Who knows what brought them here, more than likely it is merely the idea of battle, and hulks to feed their own fleets will be readily available.
- Chaos, The traitors come here to fight the imperials, and whispered voices speak of how the "God" of Avions story may have been spawned of the Warp. Many Inquisitors now arrive to search for this demon that can apparently create whole systems. Event the great Grey Knights are rumoured to have been deployed to the area, just in case.
- Necrons, The necrons have been spotted in this sector on numerous occasions, what seems to be more worying here, is that they are apparently anexing collonised plannets and using them as factories, for ships, Pariahs, and possibly most awfully souls! Fortunately the advanced nature of Necron technology appears to mean that they are incapable of building more than a few ships, evven with huge resources. The Galactic advantage of imperial numbers still holds, but they cannot allow this to be the first area to truely fall to necron superiority of numbers!
