Christopher Ebejer born 1979, Malta.
Self taught as a sculptor, at an early age showed a deep interest for the baroque heritage surrounding his native island which captured his fantasy and imagination.
Trained out as a painter Chris soon discovered that 3 dimension was the true aspiration for his creations. For five years he receives his artistic and cultural training in history of Western European Art which has introduced him with the greatest masters of all time such as Michelangelo, Bernini, Carpeaux and Rodin.
Inspired mostly from drama and looking for the theatrical, his art seems to have re-emerged from that long classical tradition which is vigorously apparent in his work. A return to the past expression by going against the current times, his art becomes truly innovative.
Chris currently divides his time between Malta and Italy and his work spans from film set design, interiors and fine art. His Art is also included in many private collections and his sculptures are acclaimed by many which have lead to a prodigious amount of commissioned work both monumental and thematic. In fact half of his time is spent on fairly large public and private commissions but in his ''own'' time he immerses himself expressing his own creative imagination for exhibitions. His work is a continuous tradition that lives on to expresses the beauty of European culture and civilization.
''Since a child I have had an aesthetic affection with the figure interpretation inspired by the beautiful and plastic modeling found in the compositions of Bernini and Carpeaux''. Born from this long artistic tradition and personal admiration for the classical beauty, ''I have applied these influences in my own approach towards figurative surrealism''.
The commission to sculpt a Baroque influenced monument such as the bronze armored figure of the famous Italian engineer Pietro Paolo Floriani erected outside the Capital of Malta was a personal aspiration. It enabled me essentially to exert myself in achieving the quality and techniques normally found in the great monuments of a by-gone era.
Chris's works shares a fascination with creating objects of rare beauty that touch the emotions and explore the dream world of subconscious. ‘‘It is the viewer that interests me and not the critic, I create to express myself and I made art that I always wanted to see’’. He shows his love to satisfy the spectator with a surreal theater of dramas, illusions and fantasy.

''The concept is essentially Dynamic,Theatrical and Expressionistic.''
