Support for Eating Disorders- Fife, Scotland

Counselling and Support Service

The Support Offered

The major part of the support I offer, to individuals suffering from eating disorders, focuses on the underlying issues, or cause of the eating disorder. My ultimate aim is to enable individuals to understand their behaviour patterns; triggers and surrounding issues, in relation to their eating disorder.

I work with individuals at a pace which suits them, addressing their unique issues and present situation, with realistic, short-term care plan goals being negotiated with each client, to enable a proactive moving on process, where individuals can feel empowered and in control of their positive development. Relaxation therapy and basic nutritional/dietary information and advice are included in this process of therapy.

Due to recovery from an eating disorder often being a very lengthy process, I aim to enable clients to reach a point where they themselves can continue their proactive development and change and become confident enough to continue their recovery independently.

In relation to counselling for issues other than eating disorders, it all works very much in the same way. Working with individuals to address their specific issues of concern and finding appropriate options and opportunities to enable moving on proactively, through reflection and analysis.

I offer long term or short term (6-8weeks) support.
