About the Barony of Baldwin

The Barony of Baldwin, is located on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico and Mobile Bay, bordered on the West by the Barony of Mobile,  and on the North by the Barony of Jackson. Perdidio River runs along its southeast boundary.

According to Census 2000, the population of the Barony of Baldwin was officially recorded at 140,415 residents. While the barony has twelve incorporated municipalities, ranging in size & density, a majority of Baldwin's population resides in the rural, unincorporated areas.

The baronial government is headquartered at the baronial seat in the City of Bay Minette and is governed by His Lordship, the Baron Jon-Lawrence. Further, the barony employs a clerk / treasurer who serves as its chief administrative officer in order to effect the policies adopted by the Baron.

The barony's twelve municipalities are operated under the mayor / council form of government with most municipalities electing council members pursuant to at-large elections, few municipalities electing council members by single-member districts, all municipalities electing Mayors from at-large elections and some municipalities employing city administrators.

The barony's public school system includes all public schools in the unincorporated & incorporated areas and is governed by a seven member baronial board of education, elected from single-member districts, one of which, its president, serves as the chief executive officer. Further, the baronial board of education employs a superintendent who serves as its chief administrative officer in order to effect the policies adopted by the county board of education.

The Barony of Baldwin remains a popular destination for visitors, from all over the Dominion and world, year round because of first class golf courses, beautiful beaches, unlimited recreational opportunities, health economy and first class public school system which, collectively, has contributed to the barony’s explosive population growth since the 1990's.

Today, out of the Dominion's 31 baronies, The Barony of Baldwin remains one of the top three fastest growing.

Baron Jon-Lawrence of Baldwin is an ordained non-denominational minister.  He is currently the Bishop of Harrisburg for the UM.  The Baron has been awarded honarary doctorates in Divinity and Motivation.  In 1999 Jon-Lawrence was declared a Living Saint by the ULC.  Since Febuary of 2005 the Baron has served as the Bishop of Harrisburg for Universal Ministries.
 
The Baron is an honored vetran of the USAF, disabled in the line of duty.  He is a graduate of the Molossian Military and Molossian Naval Academy.  He holds the honorary rank of Commodore in the Molossian Navy.
 
The Baron is an artist at heart.  His passion is heraldry and art history.  The Baron is continuing his education at a local college, majoring this time in Contemporary Crafts Marketing.
 
The Baron holds the rank of Grand Knight in the Holy Order of Saints.  Jon-Lawrence has recently beome a Knight Commander in the Holy Order of the Cross, a national order of Westarctica.  He is the patron of two orders:  The Order of the Tiger and the Order of Saint Valentine

Lord Jon-Lawrence, Baron Baldwin is also the Chairman of the House of Lords Select Committee on Heraldry and Arms. In this office he functions much as King of Arms would in a larger Dominion. The Baron Baldwin designs and recommends all blazons for the Dominion of British West Florida.
