BURNAC VULCAN, ENGLAND

The BURNAC VULCAN was made by in Stoke on Trent by Burnac Ltd, post WW2 between 1946 - 1949. This particular model has a lovely green mazac base with everything else being brass, and a very effective throttle control; it will turn over really slowly - very relaxing to watch. You've probably read elsewhere that there is a story that the boiler was made out of 40mm shell casings left over after the war; a great idea that I'd like to believe!

CAREAST, ENGLAND

From the immediate post World War 2 period, this beautiful engine also has a solid brass 3 wick burner. Very heavy, and solid brass except for the base and firebox mounting; solid, dependable British engineering at it's best, I think. The throttle is extremely effective, and it will turn over at a wonderfully langrous rate, giving it something of a museum piece feel. The firebox, burner and flywheel mounting are finished in a curious but attractive crackle finish.
