Hello my name is Drew, I'm a freshman at Arvada West (on the Cross Country Team), and I am hoping to earn the highest rank in Boy Scouts: Eagle. My Boy Scout Eagle Project is a 5K race to benefit the clients of the Downing Treatment Site, of the Mental Health Center of Denver. For my Eagle project I am collecting donated Christmas presents and money to buy Christmas presents for people who were recently or currently are homeless that also suffer from persistent mental illness. Some of these folks have housing for the first time in a long time and are in need of some basic household items, whereas others are still homeless and need basic comfort items. All Profits will go to buying Christmas presents for the clients at the Downing Treatment Facility. Suggested gift items are noted on the back of this flyer!

I assume all risks associated with participating in this event including, but not limited to: illness, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including cold, snow and/or ice, high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road; all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the event organizers, directors, officers, chairpersons, volunteers and staff; Boy Scouts – Denver Area Council, its directors, officers, staff and volunteers from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons covered by waiver and release.
I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use any photograph, recording, (sound or video) or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose without charge.
I understand that headsets of any kind, dogs on leashes, roller-skates, in-line skates and vehicles to transport children are prohibited and that violation will result in disqualification. NO DOGS, ROLLER-SKATES, IN-LINE SKATES, HEADPHONES or BABY STROLLERS.
