What Readers Are Saying About Dying for Answers:
Five stars – Old Police Drama at its best.
I really enjoyed this story. The depth of the characters, the deepening crisis, and the heartfelt emotion kept me entranced. I could hardly set the book down. If you are intrigued by police stories, this is one to pick up. I can’t wait to revisit Sergeant Jeffries and his family in another book.

I received my copy of "Dying for Answers" Saturday!! It looks SO nice. Sadly, I have not been able to start it yet, as my husband has been hogging it! He says it is very well written, and he is very pleased.

Five Stars - I love to read, love books, and read a LOT. This was a great book! The characters become very real to you and the plot moves quickly without losing substance. I've purchased copies of this book to give to family and friends and recommend it to anyone who enjoys good drama.

I could not put your book down.....wow......It was gripping....such tension.....such clever twists and turns....and most of all your sprinkling throughout of God’s truth and hope…I have been taking the book everywhere I go. I took it to red hats and made two group announcements of how marvelous it is. AND I am going to do the same thing right now with our book club.

This was a well written book. It was so gripping that I could hardly lay it down. The author takes us into 2 powerful contrasting worlds. She cleverly keeps one guessing right up to the very end about the response of our hero and what will become of his family and what the real answer is. She counter balances the darkness and evil with a ray of light that keeps us hoping. Remarkable and satisfying to read.

I have just finished -Dying for Answers. I am giving 2 as gifts. The author as written an excellent novel that demonstrates in-depth insight of a father who must face the heart wrenching problems of evil worldly influences that threaten to destroy his family. He must re-evaluate his whole belief system in order to fight this invisible entity [which] wants to annihilate all that he holds dear.

I very much enjoyed this book! It was a spellbinding tale, well written and excellently delivered. It held my attention from start to finish. Although it is set in the background of a policeman's world, it is a delight to read a book without the usual profanity, sex and excessive violence. The author delivers a message without preaching and tells her story without slowing down. I very much recommend this book! S.F. in Alabama (posted on Amazon.com)

Betsy, "Dying for answers" is so captivating, well written and a beautiful testimony! I started reading it at 10PM with the idea that I would read a little each night but I couldn't put it down till 6:30AM (I still had 45 pages left which I finished the next day). The book was wonderful and I can't wait for the sequel!!! L.R. in Colorado (in my guestbook)

My copy of DYING FOR ANSWERS arrived today, and now I too am dying for answers: "What have I got on my agenda for the next day or so that can't be postponed?" "Am I expecting any important phone calls, any visitors, any appointments that can't be re-scheduled?" "Will anybody notice if I'm not 'there' when they e-mail?" I have just finished reading the first five chapters non-stop, and can hardly wait to get back to my friends the Jeffries of Los Angeles - Sergeant Dan, his wife Amanda, their son Danny and their daughter Lisa. This book doesn't creep up on you, it GRABS you and pulls you into the centre of the drama from the very first page. Seldom have I been so impressed by a work of fiction - and the fact that this is CHRISTIAN fiction is a pure bonus! Betsy, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your gift of writing with the world. Do you have more of these gems planned? I have to ask, because these characters surely won't want to disappear after a mere 300+ pages. They're too full of life for that!

(The same "D.H." as above, after she finished reading the book):
My copy of DYING FOR ANSWERS arrived two days ago, and I have just finished reading it. More than 300 pages of superb drama! I was fearful for a while that the pace could not possibly be kept up right through until the end, but the author managed beautifully - the pace never faltered. I worried that the book might end with an implausible conversion experience - but that didn't happen either. My friends the Jeffries didn't step out of character for a single minute, and neither did any of the other characters of this intensely-absorbing book. I read the first five chapters non-stop when the book arrived on Tuesday afternoon, and could hardly wait to get back to my friends the Jeffries of Los Angeles - Sergeant Dan, his wife Amanda, their son Danny and their daughter Lisa - when I stopped to post an initial review that said in part,
"This book doesn't creep up on you, it GRABS you and pulls you into the centre of the drama from the very first page. They're too full of life for that!"
And the good news is, there's a sequel on the way. HALLELUJAH!!!

Wow! What a book! Thank you so much. I started it Sat morning and finished it Sun. evening. As you said, it is hard to put down. What an imagination, but I'm sure she has a background in police activities and/or did a lot of research. Her handling prayer and the sovereignty of God in ppg 143-147 was…a much needed lesson we all need….Betsy's way of presenting the Gospel in various parts of the book also is well done.

Freewebs' Web Editing software is the worst you can imagine, and sometimes it simply will not allow me to make any changes. Its moods are completely random. For example, I was able to change almost all of the above font colors back to white after editing them, but the paragraph above refused to change to white no matter how many times I tried. Yet this paragraph changed to white just fine....)
