THE DYFED CENTRE OF THE CARAVAN CLUB

Welcome to the Dyfed Centre Youth Section

Youth Chairperson's Welcome

Dear rally-goers,

It gives me great pleasure to find myself serving my first year as Youth Chairperson to the Dyfed centre.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome my fellow members to the committee. I would also like to, on behalf of the new committee, thank my predecessor, Rebecca, for her commitment and services given to the Youth Committee over the past years. My gratitude also extends to Tim Davies, our Adult Rep. for the past 2 years for his hard work and support.

My fellow officers and committee would like to pass on their best wishes for the forthcoming year to the main committee, and to congratulate them on another successful rallying season during 2008.

This year, the Youth Committee will continue to raise funds for national charities by holding fund raising events mainly at holiday rallies and also at our Youth rally and I hope that we can count on your continued and appreciated support during the season.

Our website will be further updated this year and I would invite you to visit it frequently to keep you up to date with our progress through the season.

To conclude, I would like to wish Sioned, Elise, Ffion Cari, Ffion, Siôn and Corey all the best for the forthcoming season.

On behalf of the youth committee we wish you a happy and rewarding rallying season.

Yours faithfully

Ellen Sutton

Youth Pantomime

The Youth Committee’s first event of the year was a trip to the Lyric Theatre in Carmarthen to see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The Youth Committee were joined by a few members of the Dyfed centre, but the support from was disappointing. The pantomime was very humorous and enjoyed by all.

I would like to say Thank you to everyone who did support us

Youth Trip- Cardiff

The Youth Committee organised a bus that would take Dyfed centre members to Cardiff for the day. The Caravan show was also on the same day. Although again we could not fill a bus, it was a very enjoyable day out.

It was a great day out on our part as we left the parents in the show and shopped ‘til we dropped in the centre of Cardiff!!  On the return journey we held a bonus ball. The winner was Margaret Down (my grandmother!)

Overall it was a successful day out and thank you to everyone who attended.

Port Talbot - Margam Park (Reversing) 6th - 8th March

We held a Bonus ball this weekend. This was well supported. We announced the winner, Gwyneth Wilkie, at flag on the Sunday morning. The remainder of the money went towards our chosen charity LATCH.

I would like to say Thank you to my Committee for selling the bonus balls and to everyone who supported us.

Easter - Bath Racecourse - 9th - 14th April

The Easter rally was a great success as we raised lots of money for our charity. We started by holding a fun sports evening that involved all the children on the rally. This was very much enjoyed by the little and Big kids!

On the Saturday evening, a Bingo evening was planned, this was a great opportunity to sell Raffle tickets, Bonus balls and name the chick. We also ran a Tuck shop.

Early Sunday morning, we held a breakfast bar. We sold bacon rolls to the rally goers. It was hard work but it proved to be a great success as we made a good profit towards our charity. They were also very tasty!

Flag was held on the Sunday morning, where I announced the winners of our competitions.

Monday evening, Sarah (Carrie’s mother) donated the ingredients to make pancakes. She also cooked the pancakes on our newly bought hot plate. The pancakes were great! We raised around £40 for LATCH. A big Thanks to Sarah for the time and money she put in.

I would like to say a BIG thank you to all the parents that helped out and to the ralliers who again supported us.

Thanks

Ellen
