This is the MIDI theme music section. It's very hard to capture anything of the originals with simple MIDI, and I only have Sibelius Student, which means you don't get as many choices of instrument. But I've had a go...
2008: NEW Murray Gold 2008 theme - Here's my MIDI of the theme for Series Four. (it's an improved MIDI from the one I did at Christmas!) MP3 file here.
2005: Murray Gold theme (extended) - Here is my improved MIDI of the Gold theme (I've taken the other one off!)
2005: Unused Trailer version - Here is the version on the Series One trailers with Eccleston outrunning the ball of fire.
2006: Murray Gold closing theme - The current closing theme used in the series.
1980: Peter Howell theme - The theme used from 1980. In the key of F# minor. The "Wee Wah Woo" is the worst bit!
1963: Delia Derbyshire theme - The original 1963 theme tune. I've now slightly improved this MIDI.
1972: Delaware theme - The unused experimental theme from 1972 on the BBC's "Delaware" synthesizer. Again, now slightly improved.
1986: Dominic Glynn theme - The theme used for Trial of a Time Lord.1996: John Debney theme - The often criticised TV Movie McGann theme, but I think it's quite good. Maybe there should have been some element of electronic music, though.
1987: Keff McCulloch theme - The theme used in Sylvester McCoy's era, from 19897 to 1989. John Nathan Turner said that the new titles and theme tune were symbolic of a new age in the show.
1981: K9 and Company - 80s Synth mania! Sibelius Student is great for orchestral stuff, but the second you start trying to make anything sound remotely "electronic", it's useless. So this is what I've come up with so far - it's not finished yet but here's a working copy.
2005: Doctor Who Confidential - A MIDI of the theme from the companion behind-the-scenes programme on BBC Three.
2006: Totally Doctor Who - The Doctor Who CBBC children's magazine show. The theme tune is a bit rubbish!
2006: Torchwood - The BBC Three spinoff starring John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness. Alien crime-busting sci-fi. In Cardiff. NOTE: This MIDI is now much improved and extended.
2007: The Sarah Jane Adventures - NEW AND IMRPOVED MIDI! The CBBC Elisabeth Sladen spinoff for children. Featuring Sarah Jane Smith.
