Styles




Aikido ~ A non-aggresive martial art. Uses less kicks and punches and concentrates on throwing techniques to over power enemies of any size or strength.

Capoeira ~ A style initially practiced by African slaves in Brazil. This art concentrates purely on kicks, with some moves resembling modern Breakdance moves.

Choy Li Fut ~ A martial art similar to Kung Fu, using traditional Kung Fu weapons. This style also practices takedowns, sweeps, pressure points and more.

Dim Mak ~ Also known as the 'Death Touch', this ancient martial art focuses on knocking out enemies by attacking their vital pressure points.

Goju Kai ~ Goju Kai Karate tends to place more emphasis on the sport side of training, though it contains very similar moves to Goju Ryu Karate.

Goju Ryu ~ This style has a great variety of hand and foot techniques. Goju Ryu Karate emphasises on strengthening the mind and body with supplementary exercises.

Kickboxing ~ A style for those who enjoy both boxing and martial arts, as this styles combines the two. Kickboxing mainly concentrates on sparring and various kicks.

Koten ~ A style mainly centered for people who are not as physicaly fit as others. Koten Karate concentrates on sparring, self-defence and street awareness skills.

Tae Kwondo ~ A style mainly centered for the more athletic youth. Tae Kwondo concentrates mainly on kicks and other complex jump kicks.

Tai Chi Chuan ~ A more gentle art for the older generation. Helps to calm your self and reduce stress. Focuses on the spiritual side of martial arts.

XMA (Xtreme Martial Arts) ~ XMA is an extreme style invloving 720 degree jump kick turns and various acrobatic moves, which can sometimes involve weapons and techniques like grappling.

Tae Kwondo Katas/Forms


Chil Jang

~ Fold both arms in the shape of a cross, with your left hand overlapping your right. Step forwards into a forward stance with your left leg in front and bring both arms down into a double downward block.

~ Keeping your arms stationary, fold your right leg and perform a front kick landing in front. As your right leg touches the ground, spin and posistion both of your arms into a double side block.

~ Keeping your arms stationary, fold your left leg and perform a front kick landing in front. As your left leg touches the ground, raise and position both of your arms into a double upper block, with your right arms overlapping your left.

~ Cup your hands together, with your right hand on top, to the left side of your waist. Perform a side kick, with a kiya, and land into a back stance with a high knife-hand block.

~ Fold, with your right hand on top, and turn 90 degrees with your left leg to your right into a back stance and perform a side block.

~ Move your left leg slightly to the left and switch into a forward stance, performing a reverse punch with your right hand and then an upper block with your left hand.

~ Cup your hands together, with your right hand on top, to the left side of your waist. Perform a side kick and land into a back stance with a low knife-hand block.

~ Move your right leg slightly to the right and switch into a forward stance, performing a reverse punch with your left hand.

~ Fold, with your left hand on top, and turn 180 degrees with your right leg to your right into a back stance and perform a side block.

~ Move your right leg slightly to the right and switch into a forward stance, performing a reverse punch with your left hand and then an upper block with your right hand.

~ Cup your hands together, with your left hand on top, to the right side of your waist. Perform a side kick and land into a back stance with a low knife-hand block.

~ Move your left leg slightly to the left and switch into a forward stance, performing a reverse punch with your right hand.

~ Pull both of your arms to the right side of your waist. Your right hand should be placed on top of your left hand with your right wist facing upwards. Your left wrist facing downwards. The two hands should make a addition sign (+) if you were to look straight down on them from your current position.

~ Turn 90 degrees with your left leg to the left and perform a low double stirke with both hands. Your right hand needs to rotate while performing this move so that your right wrist faces downwards. Pull back both hands back into the same position as the last step and then perform a double upper block, rotating your right hand again, with your right hand on top.

~ Cup your hands together, with your left hand on top, to the right side of your waist and then perform a reverse punch with your right hand.

~ Perform a knee strike with your right knee, circling 360 degrees into a horse stance and perform a downward block. Half way through the knee strike you need to fold with your right hand on top and block with your right hand as you land. From your current position, you should be looking to your right.

~ Fold, with your left hand on top, and switch into a forward stance by moving your left leg slightly to the left and perform an outside chop with your left hand.

~ Rotate your left hand 90 degrees to the left. Lift your right leg and hit the palm of your left hand lightly with the top of your right foot. Place your right foot down so you are in a horse stance and bring your right elbow and hit the palm of your left hand. The whole of your right arm should be touching the back of your left arm.

~ Fold, with your left and top, shift your left foot to your right foot then shift your right foot back so you are in a back stance. Perform a downward block with your left hand and an upper block. The upper block should be placed to the right of your body.

~ Fold for a knife-hand block and shift your left foot to your right foot then shift your right foot back so you are in a back stance. Perform a knife hand block with your left hand extended.

~ Move your left leg slightly to the left so you are in a forward stance and perform a reverse punch, with a kiya, with your right hand.
