This, in my opinion, is the best out of the series. 19 new characters are available. This Dynasty Warriors features weapons and items lying about in stages can be picked up and can be equipped to the characters.
Each character would have four weapons to collect (the strongest fourth one can't be found on any stage, a special requirement must be met). There would be 25 items to collect (red items must have special requirements met to claim these more powerful items).
This is the first in the series to feature the challenge mode where you can test more specific skills.

This is basically an extension to Dynasty Warriors 3. Characters could know have an additional colour to their original costumes (Lu Bu and Sun Shang Xiang could have a totally new costume deign needed to unlock).
There would be new scenarios in Musou mode for the unaligned characters, giving more sides to choose from in free mode levels. This is the first in the series to feature the difficulty level for each stage.
There will be an additional fifth weapon needed to gain for each character in the new very hard mode.
15 new items are available and new challenge modes.
Bodyguards now have equipable weapons and items, you can personally name them, or have female bodyguards!
