Unprepared for the responsibly of living in a town where he grew up before spending six years in the military, Dean Fredrick throws a few personal belongings in a 1966 Pontiac GTO driving south to the Florida Keys dreaming he will enjoy the same lifestyle Ernest Hemingway lived. Drinking, carousing, he can handle a little of that.
1970’s Key West, Florida. Beaten, robbed, put on a boat in route to the Caribbean, he ends up jailed. Finally released he ships out on an Island freighter and ends up beaten, drunk and dumped on an Island called St John in Caribbean. Nursed back to health he is helped by the Islanders to regain what little he has left. Weaving in and out of his life are loves both false and in the end so surprising. With the need of true friends and a place to call home, the Caribbean is like a dream come true.
Silver Moonbeams was the only title fitting for this story. From down and out to on the run, Dean moves from a runaway of life to finding his treasure in Silver Moonbeams cast on the water in the tropics. Romance, wealth, and his life can be found in the waters sprinkled with silver sparkles scatted throughout the blue-green water of the Caribbean.
The pleasure of a trip to the Virgin Islands sparked a need to write. What better place to start than the Islands thrown together with just a touch of life that only I know. Romance, Action, Suspense, Treasure, Deep Blue skies, Blue-green waters, plus soft warm Breezes. I can’t think of a better place to start.
