Puppy Advice/Visitsth_gsdpaw.gif

The majority of vets recommend that you do not take your pup out into the big wide world until at least a week after his 2nd vaccination. In some instances this can mean 14/15 weeks, resulting in your puppy missing out on vital socialisation in this critical period.

We can visit your home when your new puppy arrives and provide advice on the following:

  • Socialisation
  • Basic training
  • House training
  • Chewing
  • Puppy biting
  • Diet
  • Playing with your puppy

Pre-Ownership Advice

Welcoming a new puppy/dog into your home is a very exciting time but it can also be very daunting especially if it is a long time since you have owned one.

If you are hoping to introduce a puppy to your family we can give advice on issues such as :

  • Guidance to decide the right type of dog to suit your lifestyle and personality
  • Which breed, where to start, what to look for, hereditary diseases etc
  • Advice on what to do before getting your pup
  • Puppy proofing your house, creating a safe environment, what equipment to purchase
  • Training and socialisation recommendations.
  • Common mistakes to avoid in dog training
  • How to introduce your pup to existing dogs

If you are planning to welcome an older/rescue dog to your home we can offer advice on various aspects such as

  • Introducing your dog to existing pets
  • Socialising an older dog
  • Basic Training
  • Seperation Anxiety

Please note that we do not want to endorse a specific breeder or rescue association  to get your dog or puppy from. We believe this should be your individual decision.
