Duel on the Hill

The Culver-Stockton College Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) and Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Chapters are proud to present to you the official site of the 2009 Duel on the Hill!  The event will be held on Thursday, October 22nd.  Registration will begin at 9:00 AM.

Three weeks prior to the event, each team will be given a case study, all of which is identical.  This case study will involve a hypothetical family facing a severe financial dilemma.  Students will have three weeks to research and prepare a reasonable, workable, and creative solution to the problems based on the family's situation, economics, geography, and resources.  Students will then present their plan to a panel of judges at the event.  The top three teams with the strongest presentations will receive trophies and medals.

This event proved to be an awesome learning experience for last year's competitors as they were challenged to think critically about topics which are both practical and highly influential with the business world, such as money management and investing.  Last year's teams set the bar very high with the development of entrepreneurships and in-depth research into the utilization of financial markets.  We look forward to seeing what our newest crop of bright and talented students are able to devise.  Students will also have the opportunity to tour the campus, speak with a student panel, and learn more about our impressive business division.
