The Culver-Stockton College Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) and Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Chapters are proud to present to you the official site of the 2008 Duel on the Hill! The event will be held on Thursday, November 6 with registration beginning at 9. Two weeks prior to the event, every team will be given a case study, each of which is identical. This case study will involve a hypothetical family facing a severe financial dilemma. Students will have one week to research and prepare a reasonable, workable, and creative solution to the problems based on the family’s situation, economics, geography, and resources. Students will then present their plan to a panel of judges at the event. The top three teams with the strongest presentations will receive monetary prizes and trophies. This event will be an awesome learning experience for your students as they will be challenged to think critically about highly important topics such as money management and investing. They will also have the opportunity to tour the college, speak with a student panel, and learn more about our impressive business department.
The registration form is available on this site as well as a practice case study, rules, schedule, and additional information. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail the event coordinator, Ryan Thoroman, at rthoroman@culver.edu or our advisor, Jeanne Johnson, at jjohnson@culver.edu. You can also post comments or questions on the Contact Us page.
Thank you for visiting our website and I look forward to meeting you on November 6!
