October 4th, 03-/ Well it's time to bid Farewell to Five iron Frenzy. As Kyle and myself go to Tri City to See the last performance of Five Iron freenzy in Lower Michigan. The night started off with a performance by a teen from Cali, named Cameron Jaymes. Also preforming was Bleach and Holland. What two great bands. Then the real show when the fun spirited Five Iron took the stage. The played their music which lead to the end of an era. The finished the night with a 30 minute praise and worship service, with in your face worship. What a great way to end it. We had fun!!!!!
October 9th, 03-/ It was a great night for a concert as Kyle, Jason, Josh and Myself headed off to Saint Andrew's Hall in downtown Detroit. We were going to see a great band called Switchfoot. Heard of them? Well it was worth every pennie. Kicking off the night were two new bands, Sleeping at Last and Bleu. i must say I was imprest by the two up and comming bands. Bleu who had made it on the Spider-man soundtrack as their first big break. The evining got better as the band we were there to see took the stage. With a flawless preformance everyone in the place was singing along with the band. Overall I was so happy to have been there with my friends to see the great show. It was worth while.
Febuary 14th, 04-/ Well what a happy Valentine's Day. Me and Pat G. are heading to the Convocation Center @ Eastern Michigan university to catch the Winter Jam put on by headlining group Newsong. Your thinking, not a rock concert. WRONG! With bands like Relient K. and Audio Adrenaline playing, it was a party. Also appearing was newcomer Todd Agnew and Jaydn Maria. Brock gill and illusionist also put on a good show. It was a great night in which we were able to rock out but at the end of the night slow down and sing praise to the Lord we serve. What a great night.
March 2nd, 04-/ Well we are off agian. Kyle, Jason and, mysel went to the Shelter to catch the Tooth and Nail show. While we were going to catch the healiner Further seems Forever, we got word a few days before that the band had just parted with their lead singer and would not be on tour. Never the less we pressed on hoping to get a good show. Preforming was Emery, Watashi Wa, Me Without You, and
Anberlin.
All can be found at www.toothandnail.com . Agian we were not disappointed. The catchy lyrics, minus those of mewithoutyou since we couldn't make out a word the guy said, and the great rock beats kept us going the whole night. By the end I was deaf in my left ear for the next two days. No joke. That's when u know u got your money's worth.
April, 11th, 04-/
Well I not only went to See the Sea of Faces Tour but I did one better, I helped out. The concert was at Tri City Christian Center and it featured Kutless with special guest, Thousand Foot Krutch, Falling Up, FM Static, and speaker Ryan Dobson. It was a great concert which I would have paid to see agian and agian. If you ever get a chance to see any of these bands u will be getting your money's worth. The performances were great and I was front row when Kutless finished off the night. Afterwards I was able to meet some of the guys who were just so open to everyone. I didn't take up their time just mainly shook their hands and told them what a great ministry they had going. I then helped pack up the sound and lighting equipment which was a great honor. Being a music buff this was just great to say that I helped with all this high tech, million dollar equipment. This was one of the greatest concert experinces ever.
July 8-10th, 04-/ Oh noooo, We have driven all the way to Cincinatti's Paramount's Kings Island. A group from chruch went to the Spirit Song Festival held at the park. Not only did $70 plus dollars get us concerts but admission to the park. Weeeeeeeeee. But anyways back to the main focous, music! Sept. 17th, 04-/ Ok well me and Jason are suppose to go see Falling Up and Hawk Nelson at Club 5529 in Clarkston. Starts at 9pm when doors open. www.toothandnail.com or http://www.5529music.com/
October 14th, 04-/ This was one awesome night. I arrived at EMU around 5 and to my suprise there was hardly anyone there. The doors opened at 6 and I moved it. I was on main floor and front row center. Day of Fire opened the show with a great testimony.Next, Toby Mac www.TOBYMAC.com and his crew hit the stage with the old school songs and many new ones fron the new cd "Diverse City." The did a great job and kept the crowd moving. Brian the drummer from the group with Toby mac aknowledged me and my Switchfoot cap. Then after a short intermission to clear the stage, Third Day came out and gave the best performance i had ever seen. Over an hour and a half i would say. It was great. I just wish i would have taken my camera. I could have had some great shots. Another highlight on the night was the fact that i made it up on the big screen durring a song. This was by far worth more than the $30.00 I paid to see it. The grand finally included Toby Mac who is the brother of Tai Anderson the base player from Third Day, and third Day. They came out and showed their wacky side. But you can't end a Third Day concert without a good praise and worships song or two. My cousin Daniel ended up taking my other ticket and some of the people from Antioch Church were there to see the show also. No contest, this was a good night. I want to see Third Day agian. www.thirdday.com ..!!!!!!
Febuary 5th, 05-/ The Winter Jam in toledo, Ohio. Featuring: Newsong, Toby mac, Tait, Mathew West, Building 4:29, and Rachel Lampa. This was a great show. Very energetic and it was worth it to see the DC Talk reuinon. Toby Mac and Michael Tait came toghether for some songs which they will do throughout the tour. The other bands did their own to contribute from the rock of Building 4:29 to the worship time with hosts Newsong. Kyle and myself had a good time just getting away to check out some good christian bands. the message was great all in itself. To hear the testimony of lead singer from Newsong was heartfelt. If u can check it out when it come to a city near you....God Bless
Feb. 17th, 04-/ The ALL THINGS NEW TOUR hit eastern michigan university and I will be there when it happens. The tour features Steven Curtis Chapman as well as the two opening acts Chris Tomlin one of today's top worship leaders/songwriter and the ever rising Casting Crowns. This was the coolest worship experience ever. I could not stop thinking that only if our church could have a worship time like that. But as all three bands pointed out. That what was going on there that night is only a fraction of the worship which will take place in Heaven. The music was loud and served a purpose. The groups each had a valuable message to take away from the show and to be a shining light into our community. Bt far, anyone wasn't there missed out. If you have the opritunity to see any of these groups live. You should take it. Later.......
April Fools at Northridge Church with Rocking Music. Headliner's Mercy Me and Jeremy Camp. The Undone Tour makes it's way through Michigan. The concert also features the groups, Monk and Neagle as well as The After's.
This was an awesome concert. Such an awesome lineup of artist who are there to glorify God through song. Kyle and Emily were there and it seemed they enjoyed it. The night started out with new commer's Monk and Negale who did a relatively short set. An all accoustic set at that. the duo did a great job. Next the After's took the stage. The suprised me. I took them to be a relatively softer band but they came out swinging. I know it caught the people behind me by suprise. The young group are following the steps of groups like Switchfoot. The After's have been picked up by Epic Records to set out and spread God's message in the mainstream music indusrty. Jeremy Camp then took the stage. He played some of the old favorites closing with some of the new tracks of "Restored". I Thought I got some good pictures but turns out the film did not catch so I was a little disapointed. Be sure to look in the near future for Jeremy Camp to headline another tour to promote his album. Now for the Big Guns. After a short intermission, Mercy Me took the stage with a power pact preformance and message. The use of pictures and graphics really added to the songs. While focousing on tracks from the new cd "Undone" they did include old fan favorites. I really like the playing of an old track from one of their EP's if that called "Table for Two" and the video that went with it was hillarious. Hopefully they put it on the next cd. It is a fun song. I would recomend checking out their cd's and look out for any of these bands comming to a town near you. They are all worht seeing...(May have some pics on here soon for this show so check back)
October 2005: I along with 4 freinds were able to go to Saint Andrews to see Emery once Again. This was Kyle and myselfs second time seeing them. Along with the opening bands of : As Cities Burn, Gym Class Heroes, and Gatsby Amercian Dream. The show was just flat out awesome. Emery always put on a great show and Gatsby American Dream also did a good job. As for the other two, just not my style. Oh well, many of the others there liked them soooo. It had been a while since my last concert so this was a good return for me. Although I did get kicked by some kid which made me a little upset. But thats what you get for being near the mosh pit. Seriously though, who does that anymore. It's just ridiculous. Oh Well. another good one in the books.
A little broke at the moment sooo, not to sure when the next entry will occur so check back every now and then. Plus we need to get some good shows coming through the area! Peace out!!!
