DTFC 3 v 1 Thorpe

Dereham Town U11's entertained Thorpe on Sunday with Anthony in goal, Matthew, Nicholas, Jack and Gareth in defence, Dion, Tommy, Daniel and Nikos in midfield and Reece and Jordan in attack.

Dereham kicked off and the game had a lively start with both defences being called upon to deal with early attacks in a swirling wind.
A swift break from Jordan put him clear of the visitors defence but unfortunately no Dereham player could get on the end of his cross.
Both teams were pushing forward but it was the visitors who took the lead with a well struck shot which found the top corner to put them 1-0 up.

Dereham were soon on the attack again and a strong tackle by Daniel won the ball and his pass found Dion who threaded the ball through to Jordan who turned well and released Reece who made no mistake with his finish for the equaliser 1-1.

Emily replaced Nikos and both teams created further chances but the half finished all square.

Thorpe kicked off the second half but Dereham were soon on the attack again with Jordan going clear but his effort was blocked by the keepers legs and the ball eventually came out to Dion whose well measured shot found the back of the net for a great finish to give his side a 2-1 lead.

Thorpe had an effort clear the bar whilst Jordan saw another shot blocked by the keeper and Anthony made a full length save to put the ball out for a corner which his defence cleared.

Shane and Stanley replaced Daniel and Tommy as Dereham continued forward and a corner taken by Dion picked out Jack whose header found Jordan and he made no mistake with his shot to put Dereham 3-1 up.

The game then became an end to end affair with both sides pushing and Anthony made another good save from a Thorpe free kick and then from the resulting corner before smothering the ball after a great block by Nicholas as Dereham ran out 3-1 winners.

Firside 4 v 6 DTFC

Dereham Town U11's were away to Firside on Sunday with Anthony in goal, Matthew, Nicholas, Jack and Tommy in defence, Dion, Stanley, Daniel and Nikos in midfield and Reece and Jordan in attack.
Dereham kicked off but soon found themselves a goal down when a loose ball was put away to make it 1-0, this didn't deter the visitors who started to launch attacks of their own with good passing from Daniel seeing Reece and Dion go close, but Firside broke forward again to make it 2-0.

Dereham continued to press forward with Daniel, Tommy and Nikos strong in the tackle. A well taken corner by Dion caused problems for the home defence and the ball fell to Reece whose well struck shot made it 2-1.
The next attack saw Reece break away and his cross was parried by the keeper into the path of Daniel who fired the ball home for the Dereham equaliser 2-2.

Firside were then awarded a penalty for what seemed a fortunate handball decision but Anthony pushed the spot kick onto the bar and was unlucky to see the rebound converted to put the home side 3-2 up.
Dereham heads didn't drop and when they were awarded a free kick on the stroke of half time Dion found Reece who slid in to make it 3-3 at the break.

Firside kicked off the second half and soon went 4-3 up when their striker cut inside to finish well across the keeper and Shane came on to replace Stanley.
Still Dereham continued to press and a pass from Daniel found Jordan who raced clear of the defence and scored a great equaliser to make it 4-4.

Good work by Reece saw him send in a low cross which deceived the Firside defence and Shane was on hand to thump the ball home and put Dereham into the lead for the first time in the match 5-4.
More good Dereham play saw Jordan shoot just over the bar and Reece had a shot saved and cleared before Firside broke clear but Anthony was quick and brave to come off his line to make the save and smother the ball at the strikers feet.

Jordan saw a goal ruled out for a foul on the keeper and Sam replaced Nikos as Dereham still pressed and another well taken free kick from Dion picked out Reece Pease at the far post who finished well to earn his hat trick and give Dereham a 6-4 victory.

DTFC 10 v 3 Mulbarton

Dereham Town U11's entertained Mulbarton on Sunday with Anthony in goal, Matthew, Nicholas, Jack and Gareth in defence, Emily, Dion, Reece and Nikos in midfield and Jordan and Daniel in attack.

Mulbarton kicked off but Dereham immediately won the ball and Jordan put Reece away who saw his shot parried by the keeper and fall to Jordan to make it 1-0.
The next Dereham attack saw Reece finish well to put them 2-0 up and then Jordan and Nikos both went close before Reece saw another good effort blocked.

Mulbarton then launched a counter attack with Anthony saving the shot for a corner which the defence cleared and as they pushed out the ball found Nikos whose cross picked out Emily who made it 3-0.
Another good run and shot from Jordan was parried by the keeper but this time Reece followed up to finish and put the home side 4-0 up.

Tommy and Shane replaced Daniel and Nikos in midfield and Dereham continued to push forward with more good play from Jordan releasing Reece Pease again who made no mistake with his finish to make it 5-0 and earn him a hat trick.
Some strong determined play from Emily sent Jordan away and his fine finish put Dereham 6-0 up which was no more than their first half performance deserved.

The second half saw Kane replace Anthony in goal as Dereham kicked off but it was Mulbarton this time making an early breakthrough to make it 6-1.
The next goal also fell to the visitors as they quickly made it 6-2 in what was beginning to look like a reversal of the first half especially when after some good Dereham pressure Mulbarton broke away again to make it 6-3.

Dereham kicked off again and soon added to their lead when Reece broke clear of the defence to make it 7-3 and this was soon added to when a through ball from Reece put Jordan Rowe clear to score and make it 8-3 and also claim his hat trick.
Some strong tackling by Tommy won the ball and his pass sent Reece away again whose cool finish made it 9-3 and Reece Pease was soon away again to make it 10-3 with another good finish to earn him his 6th goal of the game.

Anthony replaced Reece for the final minutes and his pass found Daniel who saw his shot parried away for a corner which was cleared as the final whistle blew giving Dereham a 10-3 victory and the man of the match award to Reece Pease.

Dereham kicked off against the wind and Anthony was called upon to make an early save and Reece, Daniel S and Dion were causing the away defence problems and forcing corners.

One corner from Dion found Daniel S and his well struck volley found the back of the net to put Dereham 1-0 up.

Saint Andrews saw a shot hit the bar and Daniel F came on for Shane as Dereham went in with a half time lead.

The second half saw shots from Nicholas and Reece saved and Saint Andrews hit the post as the game started to open up.

A well taken corner by Dion eluded everyone and crossed the line to give Dereham a 2-0 lead and this was quickly followed by a shot from Reece which went in off the bar to put them 3-0 up.

A good ball from Nikos was well finished by Emily to make it 4-0 and a great run and cross by Reece found Daniel S who struck to make it 5-0.

A shot from Daniel F hit the bar and was cleared for a corner which was taken by Dion and converted by Shane who had replaced Emily to make it 6-0.

A through ball and run by Reece put the away defence under pressure and his determination won the ball and he finished well to make it 7-0.

More good Dereham play produced another goal for Dion who made it 8-0 and a determined run from Daniel S saw him pick out Reece Pease who scored to complete his hat trick and give Dereham a 9-0 victory.

DTFC 5 - 2 Salhouse

Dereham Town Under 11s entertained Salhouse on Sunday with Kane in goal, Matthew, Nicholas and Gareth in defence, Jack, Emily, Tommy, Nikos and Dion in midfield and Reece and Daniel up front.

Dereham kicked off creating several early chances and took the lead after good work by Emily saw the ball drop for Tommy who drilled his shot home for 1-0.

Dereham continued on the attack and the pace of Reece saw him break clear and his assured finish made it 2-0.

The home defence was performing well with their midfield controlling the game and another run by Reece found Daniel who finished well for 3-0.

Dereham continued to create chances and it was a deflected shot by Daniel that saw them go in at half time with a healthy 4-0 lead.

The second half saw Anthony, Shane and Sam replace Matthew, Emily and Gareth and Daniel was soon through but saw his shot saved by the keeper.

Reece was causing the visitors problems but was denied further goals by the woodwork and the Salhouse keeper who blocked one effort only to see the ball fall to Daniel whose control and finish made it 5-0 and earned him his hat trick.

The home side seemed to take their foot off the accelerator which allowed Salhouse to score two late goals to make it a 5-2 home win for Dereham.

Fakenham 2 - 0 DTFC / Jan 6th

Dereham Town Under 11s travelled to table toppers Fakenham on Sunday with Kane in goal, Anthony, Matthew, Nicholas and Jack in defence. Shane, Emily, Tommy and Dion in midfield and Reece and Nikos up front.

The game had an even start, but the determination of a Fakenham striker during a defensive scramble saw him score to put the home side in front.

Dereham continued to push forward looking for an equaliser and the pace of Reece was causing problems for the home defence in what became an even end to the first half.

Fakenham kicked off a second half that saw early Dereham substitutions with Daniel and Gareth replacing Shane and Nikos.

Some good Dereham play released Reece who bore down on the Fakenham goal and was unlucky to see his shot go wide for what would have been a deserved equaliser.

However another goalmouth scramble was capitalised on by Fakenham and the ball found it’s way into the Dereham net to put them two goals up.

Sam came on for Anthony and Daniel was unlucky with a fierce shot that hit the keepers legs and was cleared.

More determined play by Reece saw him heading towards the Fakenham goal again but this time he was denied by a well timed last ditch tackle.

The game ended with a win for the home side but Dereham put in a good team performance which with a bit of luck could have seen them come away with at least a point.

Scole 7 - 1 DTFC / Dec 9th

Due to illness and injury a depleted Dereham Town Under 11's team travelled to Diss on Sunday to play second place Scole without 4 key players.

Dereham kicked off with Kane in goal behind Anthony, Gareth, Nicholas and Matty with Dion, Shane, Nikos and Diogo in Midfield and Reece and Daniel F in attack.
The game started evenly with Dereham playing some nice football but they soon lost the lively Daniel F to injury and he was replaced by Tom. Scole took the lead from a free kick which was headed home at the far post and the home side soon went two goals up with a well struck shot from distance.
Despite these setbacks Dereham continued to play some great football with Anthony, Gareth, Matty and Nicholas strong in the tackle, plus determined play from Shane, Diogo, Nikos and Tom, plus the passing of Dion and the pace of Reece causing problems, however Scole were quick on the break and scored two more goals to give themselves a 4-0 lead at half time.

Scole kicked off the second half and soon took a 5-0 lead, however Dereham continued to push forward but despite their best efforts they couldn't break through. Two further gaols for the home side saw them take a 7-0 lead but still Dereham heads didn't drop and they eventually got their reward when a ball fell to Nikos who hit a superb drive from distance which gave the Scole keeper no chance and pulled a goal back to make it 7-1.
Reece had a shot saved as Dereham continued to attack but it wasn't to be their day in a game that was closer at times than the score may suggest.

DTFC 2 - 3 ROCKLANDS / OCT 7th

Hurry Back Dave ...

DTFC entertained Rocklands on another balmy Sunday afternoon. The home side started with Gareth in goal deputising for the unavailable Kane and the injured Ant, playing behind Tommy Blowers, Jack, Tricks & Sam Wilson with Nikos, Dion, Screenie & Emily in midfield with Reece & Shane upfront.

Both sides played some lovely football with DTFC taking the lead through a sweetly struck shot from Nikos that had ‘goal’ written all over it from the 1st touch. Rocklands pushed hard taking a deserved equaliser but the last period of the 1st ½ belonged to Dereham who bombarded the Rocklands Goal only prevented by some of the best (visiting) goalkeeping we have seen this season.

Dereham started the 2nd ½ with Tom Cockaday on for Sam – the game continued to flow end to end with both teams working hard with Rocklands taking the lead through 2 well taken goals, the score not reflecting the game … Dereham introduced Daniel Foster upfront who was soon in the thick of it.

Dereham continued to press with many opportunities during the last 10 and were rewarded with another goal from Reece our highest scorer to-date in the closing moments.

The game finished 2-3 but both sides can take credit from a thoroughly enjoyable game well played!

Man of the Match Dion

Nikos was introduced and was soon in the thick of it; the 1st 1/2 finished 2-0

Dereham started the 2nd as they had the 1st, with Tricks, Gareth, Tommy B & Tom C working hard at the back with Tricks covering Hethersets counters. The midfield continued to push with Screenie chasing every ball supported by Emily, Dion & Jack.

Much of the 2nd 1/2 was fought in the middle with Shane & Nikos competing for every lose ball. With time running out Hetherset scored from distance with the goal of the game to finish 1-2 with Dereham taking the points.

Dereham entertained fellow top of the table Fakenham on Sunday, Dereham starting with Gareth in goal, playing behind Tom C, Tommy B, Jack & Tricky in defence with Nikos, Shane, Emily & Dion in midfield with Daniel S & DG playing upfront.

The game was played in a very competitive but good spirited contest with Dereham having early chances to take the lead but falling behind to 2 well taken Fakenham goals which is how the half finished.

Changes were made introducing Sam W, Dominic & Daniel F during the 2nd half.

The home team worked hard but found it difficult to break but defending well against a very well organised Fakenham team who deserved the win.

ATTLEBOROUGH 1 - DTFC 3 / SEPT 16th

Dereham Town U11's travelled to Attleborough on Sunday, Dereham started with Kane in goal, playing behind Tom Cockaday @ RB, Tommy Blowers & Tricky in the center with Gareth @ LB with Emily & Ant playing wide - with Screenie & Dion playing in the middle with Nikos & Reece upfront.

Attleborough started very quickly - being very quick on the break - Dereham were pleased to see their early efforts go wide.

Dereham played their way into the game with a nice touch from Anthony releasing Nikos whose early cross was blocked then a well struck effort from Daniel hit the post as Dereham pushed forward. Another effort from Daniel also went close after good work between Emily and Reece.

The defence of Tom, Tricky, Tommy and Gareth were working hard against a very good attack minded Attleborough, as was Kane, having a very good game in goal.

Dereham's midfield were also working hard, facing relentless pressure with Dion & Emily covering every inch of the pitch assisted by Screenie & Ant who were pushing forward at every opportunity to support Nikos & Reece who was having an excellent game.

20 mins in Sam Wilson rested Tom with Samuel Green resting Anthony - some great control from Emily found her space for a shot which was saved as the first half ended goalless 0-0.

Anthony replaced Nikos for the second half as the Dereham defence was called into early action to avert danger. With Tom coming on for Gareth with Sam switching to LB and Tom to RB - a strong run and shot from Reece was saved and Anthony saw his follow up blocked for a corner which was taken by Dion which was strongly headed home by Tricky to give Dereham a 1-0 lead.

Dion then produced another fine cross which caused panic in the Attleborough goalmouth and the ball was eventually scrambled clear. Nikos came on for Samuel and Attleborough saw a shot hit the the bar with the loose ball smothered by Kane.

Good work by Tom at the back clearing up a lose ball then finding Reece with a line pass whose cross was finished well by Daniel to put Dereham 2-0 up.

Gareth replaced Anthony and with the Dereham defence and midfield working hard they restricted the Attleborough chances. However a quick counter attack by Attleborough produced a one on one situation which was well taken to make it 2-1. Samuel replaced Daniel and a quick throw in by Dion to Tricky saw the ball passed back to Dion who fed Reece and his well hit curling shot beat the keeper to give Dereham a 3-1 lead which they held until the final whistle for their first win of the new season.

An excellent result against a very good team, whose left mid was both exceptional and very quick!

Man of the Match Reece

It was a very tight game, keenly contested by the home side, played in a good spirit in very humid conditions, with Nath & Kev making excellent use of both sub's resting many players during the game seeking 1st the winner and then to secure the game.

Next Week a top of the table clash 1st playing 2nd

DTFC 4 - SCOLE 4 / SEPT 9th

Dereham Town Under 11's started their new season with a home game against Scole on Sunday.

Dereham kicked off and immediately went on the attack forcing three consecutive corners which Scole managed to clear - a swift break from Scole earned them a corner from Kane's save which the defence cleared.

The Dereham back four of Gareth, Sam Wilson, Tricky and Tommy Blowers were working hard in front of Kane, assisted by Jack, Daniel Screen, Nikos and Samuel playing in midfield with Dion & Reece playing some excellent football upfront.

Dereham had the early play with a snap shot from Nikos well saved by the Scole keeper. A good saving tackle by Tricky put the ball out for a corner from which Dion won the ball and his superb pass released Reece who raced clear and finished well to give Dereham a 1-0 lead.

Scole continued to mount attacks on the Dereham goal but their shots fell wide.

A foul led to a Dereham free kick just outside the penalty area which was taken by Dion and his well struck effort found the net to put Dereham 2-0 up. A Scole corner was not cleared by Dereham and the loose ball was struck home to make it 2-1 at half time.

Scole kicked off the second half with an early shot which struck the Dereham crossbar and the ball was cleared. From another corner Scole produced an equaliser for 2-2 as the Dereham defence failed to clear the ball again. A good pass from Nikos found Reece and his shot flashed just wide as Dereham pushed forward. Anthony replaced Samuel Green and Tom Cockaday replaced Nikos as both teams chased the winner.

A run and shot by Daniel was blocked and the loose ball fell to Reece who finished well from the angle to put Dereham 3-2 up.

Scole, however, didn't give up and a well struck shot saw them draw level again at 3-3. Good play at the back by Jack saw the ball find Daniel who made a great turn in the box to find space and his finish put Dereham back in the lead at 4-3.

With time running out Scole won a corner which was headed out by Anthony and then cleared for another corner which was forced over the line despite the best efforts of the Dereham defence to level at 4-4 and that was the last action of a very entertaining game played in a good spirit.
