Code of Conduct

DTFC U11 are very lucky to have extremely supportive parents onboard and our supporters at matches are impeccable, unfortunately this is not the case across the board, recently all competing Clubs in the South Norfolk Football League were issued a letter outlining pretty much what is below due to complaints about certain supporters (not ours), spot checks are now in place to stamp out this behaviour, fines or expulsion from the league may result if it is found, we have included this code of conduct on our site to show our support to the league and we know all our supporters will adhere to these guidelines.

Code of Conduct for Parents / Spectators

Parents/Guardians/Spectators

Parents/Spectators have a great influence on children’s enjoyment and success in football.  All children play football because they first and foremost love the game – its FUN.

It is most important to remember that however good a child becomes at football positive encouragement will always contribute more than criticism to enjoyment, personal achievement, self-esteem and improving the child’s skills and techniques.

A parents/spectators explanations and attitudes have a significant bearing on a child attitude towards

·         Other players-their team mates and opposition

·         Match Officials

·         Coaches/Managers

·         Spectators

Parents/Guardians/Spectators should;

·         Work with the Manager/Coach not against them – avoid coaching the child during the game as it can be really confusing

·         Look for players doing things well and be positive and encouraging towards all of the children not just their own

·         Give attention to all of the children involved in football not just the most talented

·         Recognize and applaud the opposition as well as your own team

·         Not shout and scream

·         Respect the referees decision

·         Do not over react to foul play which will inevitably happen on the pitch

·         Always deliver and collect their children to the agreed place, at the agreed time for training and matches

·         Appreciate how much time and effort it takes to manage and organize a football team and play an active part in the team/club

MOST OF ALL ENJOY WATCHING AND SUPPORTING THE TEAM
