
William Creed was only Eighteen when he went to war, born and lived in Andover, Hampshire. He enlisted in Fulham into the 5th battalion Wiltshire Regiment. He was posted to Galipolli leaving England on the 1/7/1915 and arriving in Galipolli on the 17/7/15. William was killed on the 23/7/1915.
'' 2.30 a.m An attack by enemy was anticipated and prepared for, and counter attack planned, at this hour. but nothing occurred. 8.15 a.m working parties carried on as yesterday. 3.00 p.m Enemy shelled ESKI LINES about 3/4 mile behind us. They suddenly put three shells into our trenches, killing three men and wounding one officer.''
William was one of the three. Remembered with Honour on the Helles Memorial.
