Harry Nurden was a pre-war regular. He was posted to France and Flanders in 1914 with the 1st Battalion Royal West Kent Regiment, he went through every battle the West Kents fought in, including the battle for Hill 60. When the battle of the Somme broke out he fought gallantly. Sergeant Harry Nurden was killed in action on the 03/09/1916. He has no know grave. Remembered with honour on the Thiepval war memorial.
