
Edward Howes served in the 1st battalion Norfolk Regiment during the great war, being deployed on the 3/12/1914 just missing entitlement to the 'Mons-Star'. He took part in the Christmas truce in 1914. He was in Dellville Wood during the Somme, and was gassed, he was posted to the Labour Corps and then to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps. Finally being discharged on the 1/5/18.
