Albert (slapsy) Creed joined the Royal Signals in the early 1930s. Later in 1937 was posted to Mesopotamia to fight Jewish terrorists. When war arrived, he was sent to france as part of the B.E.F. and had to retreat from Dunkirk, Being posted to North Africa in 1941 he did his Airborne training and served as an Airborne Signal-man. He went in just prior to D-Day and worked with the French resistance, he parachuted many times into Europe and went into arnhem by glider escaping with the help of the dutch resistance. He stayed in the army until 1961 when he retired as an R.S.M.
