How to make a "simple" Clover Leaf

This tutorial was written and presented by me, ©D'Zines by Grace, 2009.

Any resemblance to this tutorial is purely coincidental.

What you create with this information, is owned solely by you.

Since writing this, I've learned the Shamrock and Clover are 2 different things.

I apologize for the mistake on my part. I just didn't want to re-do this whole tutorial

all over again. This should be titled "St. Patrick's Day Shamrock".

Supplies needed:

Corel Paint Shop Pro here this was done in PSPX2

Super Blade Pro (optional) here. Demo

Eye Candy 3.1 (optional) here. Free

Super Blade Pro Presets here. Elizabeth has some fabulous presets!

The preset I used for this tutorial is lizs_christmasgold. I would send this in zip form,

but you really need to go shopping at her site.

1. File > New > New Image

500 X 500 Pixels > 72.000 > Raster Background > Transparent

2. Materials Palette > Foreground set at Gold Gradient > Background set at  #1e7b09 (green)

Close off the Foreground for now

3. Preset Shape Tool > Heart 1 > Create as Vector checked > Anti-Alias checked

4. Draw out a nice size heart, but not to large.

Objects > Align > Center in Canvas > Layers > Convert to Raster Layer

5. Effects > Plugins > MuRa's Meister Filter > Copies > Encircle

Play with the settings to get your size of heart so it looks something like below

6. Layers > Duplicate > Close off the duplicated layer > click on the original layer to activate

 7. Materials Palette > Foreground #1e7b09 (green) Background null

8. Pen Tool > Point to Point > Connect segments checked > Create on Vector checked

Show Nodes checked > Line Style solid > Width around 15.00

9. Draw, point to point, a stem at the bottom of the leaf > right click on the bottom node

Node Type > Symmetric > move the arrow just a bit to give it a small curve

10. Layers > Convert to Raster Layer > Layers > Arrange > Move Down

11. While on the full clover leaf > Selections > Select All > Selections > Float

Selections > Modify > Expand at 4

12. Materials Palette > Foreground Gold Gradient

Fill the selection with the gold gradient > Keep selected

13. Effects > Plugins > Flaming Pear > Super Blade Pro > lizs_christmasgold > OK

Selections > Select None

14. Click on the top layer, should be the green leaf. Unhide this layer

Effects > Plugins > Eye Candy 3.1 > Glass

(You can use a bevel or Eye Candy 5 Impact Glass or Eye Candy 4000 Glass)

15. Layers > Merge > Merge Visible

And we're done!! Have fun with this... I know you will!!
