Eye Candy Impact - Bevel
Eye Candy Texture - Animal Fur
Alien Skin Products
here
If you do not have these products,
settings in PSP or Eye Candy 3.1 can be used. Download here
Use of - Ellipse Preset Shape, Vector, Pen Tool
File/New/New
Image, 500 X 500 pixels, 72.00 Resolution (that's what I use),
OK
Click
on Preset Tool set to Ellipse, Anti-alias CHECKED, Create as
Vector CHECKED
Materials
palette set to Foreground null, Background black #000000
On
your canvas, draw out an oval shape for the body keeping it to
the right side
Layers/Convert
to Raster Layer
Effects/Plugins/Alien
Skin Eye Candy: Impact - Bevel


***If you don't have Eye Candy,
use a bevel preset or a favorite of your own.
A good preset would be the Round
one.***
Click
on the Preset Tool set to Ellipse just as before and draw out a
smaller oval circle for the head. Once you have something you
like, Layers/Convert to Raster Layer
Apply
the same Inner Bevel as was used on the Body

Pen
Tool - Point to Point, Line Style Solid, Line width 5-6
depending on what size you're working with
Materials
Palette - Foreground #FACB4E, Background null draw some lines on
his body
Once
your lines are made, Layers/Merge/Merge Down until
you have one layer of lines. Layers/Merge/Merge Down
**Note: The lines do not
have to be perfect. They will be taken care of in the Animal Fur
step
Effects/Plugins/Alien
Skin Texture: Animal Fur
These will be settings you can
play with to get the effect you like


If you don't have Eye Candy
Texture and you have Eye Candy 3.1, find a setting that will
give you similar results
Highlight
the head layer and we will add the eyes. :-)
Click
on the Preset Shape Tool set on Ellipse, Create as Vector,
Anti-alias
Materials
Palette set to Foreground null, Background white #FFFFFF
Draw
out a small oval shape for the whites of the eyes, move to where
you like it
Layers/Convert to Raster Layer
Effects/3D
Effects/Inner Bevel

Preset
Shape Ellipse, Materials Palette - Foreground null, Background
black #000000
Draw out a small circle for the
eye and apply the same Inner Bevel as above
Change the Materials Palette - Foreground null, Background #FFFFFF
Place a small Ellipse on the black
part of the eye for highlight.
Wings
- Click on the Preset Shape, find a heart
Materials
Palette - Foreground null, Background white #FFFFFF
Draw out your image to make the
wings, Layers/Convert to Raster Layer
Once you have that done, Selection
Tool set to Rectangle, Feather 0, Anti-alias CHECKED
draw out the Rectangle so you have
half a heart... Sorry! Hit delete so one half is cut
Selections/Select none

Use the
Warp Brush, Mesh Warp, or Deform, which ever you feel the most
comfortable using, to shape the wing up and soften the edges
just a bit
Layers/duplicate
- Move one down so it is below the body and the other is on
topof the body
Use the deform tool to rotate the wings so they are not on top
of each other.
Add an Inner Bevel and then lower opacity to give them a
see-thru appearance

Feet
- Pen Tool - Point to Point, Line
Style solid, Width 6.00 depends on the size you're working with.
Draw out a single line to make a foot/leg. Leave as vector!
Click
on the Pen Tool, Right click on one of the nodes, Node Type,
Symmetric

Grab one end of the arrow and
position it to make a curve. Once you're happy with the looks,
Layers/Convert to Raster Layer
Layers/Duplicate
use the Mover Tool to move one of the legs and position one just
a bit higher than the other.

Antenna
- Pen Tool - Point to Point, Line Style Solid, Width 3.00
depending on the size you're working with. Draw out one line
then follow the above process to make the curve in the line.
Layers/Convert
to Raster Layer
Preset
Tool - Use the heart from before or find another, Create as
Vector, Anti-alias
Materials
Palette - Foreground null, Background #FACB4E, draw out a small
heart
Layers/Convert
to Raster Layer; apply Inner Bevel used above
Layers/Merge/Merge
Down... if you're on top of your Antenna
Layers/Duplicate
and position like so 
If all has gone well, you should
now be a proud owner of a cute little bee!
