Costs for repair work start at around £30/ linear meter.

Grants may be available from various bodies such as Scottish natural heritage or SEERAD through the Rural Stweardship Scheme.

Applications for grants from SNH are based on each case and are dependant on funds being available at the time of application.  Applications from the Rural Stewardship Scheme have to be submitted before June for an august decition.  Further grants may be available on protected sites and from other bodies.

If grants are forthcomming then field boundaries can be repaired and maintained at little or no cost to the land owner or tennant.  The natural heritage, habitat and value of the property can be maintained as well as the asthetic apperance of the countryside.
