Birchcroft China.
In 2002 Birchcroft Fine Bone China UK did a number of Doctor Who thimbles, appearing on eBay for sale. Futher investigation revealed that Birchcroft China had purchased a number of transfers for Doctor Who thimbles, from a liquidated China company, which produced around 1980, but never manufactured.
There were a number of test thimbles produced. These were made available for sale on eBay. Some thimbles were fired with the transfers in 2002- these have 'Birchcroft China' printed inside them, the original 1980 tests did not.
There were four thimbles produced in the test batch: 1. Dr.Who. 2. K9. 3. TARDS. 4. Dalek.
However there are two further transfers: Adric and Leela. These last two were never produced as test thimbles.
Today further merchandise utilising the transfers has come to light.
