| Initial D Stages:
|
(note:For those who don't know Initial D refers to it's season's as Stages. ex. season 1 would be known as stage 1)
Initial D has really grown over the years. For those who have seen the stages we owe this blessed anime to its creator Shugeno Shuichi, who originally started Initial D as an inernet comic. this comic was recognized and picked up by the "Fuji Television Network." Which saw great potential in the comic as a show. Their predicaments could not have been more truer. Initial D became one of the most watched cartoons in an insanly short period of time. This heightned its fame to a level that could only be topped by watching actual drifting, and that is exactley what people did. As the fame of Initial D grew so did the influence on Drifting. Galleries gathered around the mountain passes to witness amazing battles on the down-hill. You can say that Initial D set the grounds for the popularity of drifting in America. |
| The Story: |
This story line revolves around the main character Takumi Fujiwara. Takumi developed his skills at an early age. Although he is only eighteen he has incredble skill this is soley because he had allready been driving since the age of thirteen, dilivering tofu in his fathers AE-86 Toyota Trueno. The only way to Takumi's destination was to travel through the local mountain pass: Mt. Akina. To ensure the saftey of the tofu he needs to exute perfect drifts, so as not to break it. In order to do this Takumi uses a cup of water, he needs to drift without spilling the water by always keeping it in a circular motion, around the surface of the cup. If he spills the water then he's going to fast, and the tofu will break. Through these self-taught skills he becomes a legend on the Down-Hill.
The story begins when a young Takumi is introduced into the racing world by his friends Iketani Senpai, Kenji Senpai, and Iuitski. Although his skill is unmatched, he finds no interest in racing. The local team is challeneged to a time attack on Mt. Akina by the Akagi Redsuns, but when Keisuke Takahashi encounters Takumi's 86 he witnesses his amazing abilities, but has no idea who the driver was so Keisuke sets out to race Takumis 86. After much investigation Iketani discovers that the only 86 in town is found at Takumi's house, but they also don't know that Takumi was the one driving when Keisuke bumped into the 86. They belive its his father Bunta Fujiwara, since he was and still is the fastest on Mt. Akina. Iketani pleads Bunta to go race in his place, but Bunta sends Takumi in his place. Upon arriving on Mt. Akina Takumi causes much commotion on how a kid so young and a car so old could really be fast enough, that the Redsuns #2 driver would challenge him. Although he was doubted by much of his friends, Takumi raced on and ultimatly defeated Keisuke.
And so his Legend Began.................And Still Continues. |
