HBH Fish Food (link)
Each fish food container has a 6-digit Lot No. that is printed on the back and allows HBH to track every product they make. All their food is good for 3 years after the manufacture date.
Between March 2004 and 06/04/06, HBH coded its products by a 6-digit batch number.
Between 06/05/06 and 12/03/06, HBH coded its products by the date produced.
Beginning on 12/04/06, HBH implemented date lot numbers. All of their products, with a few exceptions, are now coded by the date three years after the day that product was made, or the expiration date.
For example, a can of HBH Shrimp Pellets marked with 082306 was manufactured on August 23, 2006 and expires on August 23, 2009. A can of HBH Baby Bites marked with 002583 was manufactured on August 31, 2005 and expires on August 31, 2008.
