Here is some quick history behind the display

My family and I moved into this house in Alberta Canada, in the summer of 1990, but only started to put up Christmas lights in about 1992. That year we had 6 strings of blue and green C-9 lights and the display has slowly grown ever since.

In the summer of 1999 when icicle lights, the new big thing, were very cheap, we bought 1000 of them. During the Christmas of 1999 we had about 1300 lights, which I was happy with. During this Christmas season we visited the
Enchanted Forest in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and it was quite a bit of fun. They have thousands of lights.

It was the summer of 2000 when I started to visit other websites of people with my same hobby, and was surprised at how many there were. This was the year that I really started going light crazy. Although I only put up 1500 lights, I was again, really happy with the the result. This year we also went to the Enchanted Forest
and it was alot bigger, and better.

My 2001 display was absolutely awesome. It contained 5,828 lights, all connected using 31 extension cords. This year I had a train, angel on the roof, Nativity scene, two light trees, presents, and much, much more.Again we visited the Enchanted Forest. The HUGE display had over one million lights!

My display continues to grow, and will always continue to grow.  When I was young I never in would have dreamed that I would be putting up a display with 30,000+ lights and controlling it all by a computer.
