The Dragons & Spirits

People are scattered, people are busy.  People have moved on.  I don't know if anyone ever visits this site.  I don't give up.  You know me!  I will contact folks and see what can be done.  I think there will be some good news for us all in due course.

The Dragons have welcomed Bob as a new Dragon.  Bob has stuck with us, meeting up when others have drifted away, showing an interest when others didn't bother and keeping up  his support for our voluntary project, the Millennium Green.  He has been swimming with us loads of times, helping to keep that going, and despite big health problems, still keeps on going, trying to sort his life out.  The fact that he has already given blood and that he extended great hospitality to one of the Continuum when she needed it also helped to convince us of his Dragonness.

There is much to do, rebuilding the Dragons and perhaps the whole Dragon Realm.  We must meet up and begin by deciding what kind of Dragon Bob is.

The Kims are organising a do for you-know-what on Friday August 15th.  Contact them to get the details of where and when (and why, if you have not been on this planet for a while!)

Moscow State Circus at Alley Palley.  I have a few half price tickets- call me.

Volunteer Day on the Millennium Green Saturday 6th Sept. 10-4pm.

Pegasus and Eagle Spirit will soon be leaving North London and living many miles further north.  They are already travelling up and down to their new home and they will leave for good in a couple of weeks.  It will be up to everyone to see what happens next.  We need to keep in touch with them and they should do the same with us if the DS is to flourish.

We have been invited to do the voices for our friend in USA, BritishMyVoice's animation porject "The Mynds".  Get in touch if you want to do some voices.

Harry has been officially given the task of organising the next Blood Donation.  Talk to him if you are brave enough to go there and do that.

Our Shadow Dragon is away and we miss her .  However, we have been busy as usual, with work on the Green and visits to Pegasus and the Bankers cheering us up.

Monday 14th is the last date for money for Paintball.  Don't pay, don't go.

Dragons to give blood as soon as Shadow returns.

Closing date for 60 word stories is Wednesday 23rd April

Karaoke on Sat 26th April.

Elvis night on Friday 9th of May. 

Anniversary

We celebrated Five Years of the Dragons & Spirits last Friday with an exchange of Easter Eggs and some resolutions:

1.  The Dragon Realm confirmed me as Ringbearer for another year.

2.  The Dragons resolved to go and give blood again this year- Andrew, Lisa, Harry and Ibby put their hands on the stack.

3.  The Dragons resolved to maintain the friendship with the Spirits, especially to Nina and Jack, who are due to move miles away in a few weeks.  Nina & Jack put their hands on our stack and promised the same with us.

Easter Event

Lisa, Harry and Andrew created an Easter Event on the Millennium Green on Saturday 22nd.  In spite of snow and hail we had children creating posters, petting Harry's rabbit, hunting Easter Eggs and exploring under the logs.  Harry passed his certificate, which brings him much closer to becoming a Dragon

Our Official Dragon Friend Lisa has become a dragon, the first new dragon since the Dragons began in 2003.  Lisa has been around in the background for years, coming and going, but has settled with us at last long enough for us to really get to know her.  She has become interested in meeting up with us all the time and doing new things with us.  She was one of the first to go away on holiday with the DS, one of the first to give blood with us, then get someone else to give blood too.

Now, she persuaded us all to wear hats, which is fun and has added to our eccentric identity.  Finally, after coming along every Friday and joining in with everything we have done for the last three months, she has completed her Certificate of Volunteer Training with the Millennium Green and kindly arranged my birthday celebrations.

You will find Lisa's space is now on the Dragons page and Lisa has got the password to write her own space!  She has cjosen to be known as the Shadow Dragon, although she is certainly no longer living only in the shadows!

 The Dragon realm is full of playing darts now, we all have to have darts and dartboards all of a sudden.  The Spirits are beginning to warm to it too.  We are still looking for somewhere we can all play pool.  Anyone?

Nina and Jack are set to leave for sunny Essex in just a handful of weeks; so it remains to be seen how the DS will operate in the coming year.  It really rests on the Spirits to resolve to keep things together and plan how we can continue to meet.

Lisa and Harry are on course to become Dragons soon.  They are doing fine on their CVT on the Millennium Green and the other requirements are easy enough.
