Made a mini Doctor who for a swap on craftster....he has a pipe cleaner frame and sculpey shoes so he can stand on his own.
I made him some adipose friends...which are stitch markers.

My daughter took charge of the cookie frosting this year. I'm not sure anyone will have the heart to eat them!

It's been hard to be up on my feet lately because of this:
Not good timing to sprain my ankle. I will get cookies made...but probably not as many kinds as usual.
Having to sit more has at least meant more knitting and felting getting done:
Mushroom ornaments!
And I finished two pair of socks this month. Hoping to get at least one more pair done..along with some secret projects.Hope your holiday crafting is going well!

Just wanted to let you know that there are only 25 days until Christmas and I haven't smelled any cookies being baked yet. You might want to get on that.

We got all the pine roping and lights up this past weekend. It always makes me so happy to see them up. It was the first time in years that I could feel my fingers while doing this chore as the weather has been so mild lately.
I've been working on getting the annual Christmas soap batches done:
I'm still knitting away and got a pair of socks done and another started over the weekend. Our DVD player just broke so we couldn't watch my favorite Christmas specials yet. Next up on the holiday crafting list is the gingerbread house...or thing. The kids want to make a TARDIS and a Dalek out of gingerbread. I love my little geeklings! We all can't wait for the Doctor Who Christmas special to come out.
Which reminds me of my new favorite geek item: dalek and TARDIS ornaments from BBC shop....a bit pricey-but on my if-I-win-the-lottery shopping list (I guess that should be the if I-ever-buy-a-lottery-ticket-and-then-win shopping list).

Lots of needle felting going on!
I'm demonstrating spinning at a historic Thanksgiving program this weekend so I have to brush up on my drop spindle skills. I'm bringing my spinning wheel but figure I should have the drop spindles for people to try too. I was in the middle of spinning some handpainted merino but guess I should switch to a natural, more historically accurate fiber! I wish I had known I would be doing this demonstration sooner as I would have made up some naturally dyed samples of yarn.

Dyed some bamboo. These colors make me so happy I could lick the computer (or maybe that's hungry).

No- it's not intestines or brains. Just bamboo fiber soaking in dye. I love spinning this fiber but really don't enjoy dyeing it-it takes so much work to get it all rinsed out properly. Nothing compares to my beloved wool.
I finished a new felted scarf, with cut out sections. It's super squooshy-made from some merino batts:
I just dyed some silk schiffon scarves to try some nuno felting....wish me luck as I hear its takes a whole lot of elbow grease!
