Not too long ago, I decided that I was going to go to college, like so many others. But unlike most everyone else, I did not want to be a doctor or a lawyer or a teacher. I wanted to go into the Film Industry. My father told me it wasn't a real job but I didn't care. I was going forward full force and no one could stop me.
Of course you didn't come to this site to hear about me did you? You came to read about Draco Malfoy, the defiant, handsome, and extraordinarily talented wizard who beats the odds of following in daddy's footsteps and setting out on a path of his own. A path that niether Draco nor anyone he meets along the way, chose.
For many of you who have read the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, you whould know that Draco's life starts out the same way in the Trilogy as well. Cassandra Claire merely writes as she thinks the series should end. She writes with her story taking place after the Goblet of Fire (year four). Her story takes a rather unusual turn as the students enter year five of their Hogwarts education. In a ever so invigorating lesson in Potions with Professor Snape, teams of two are chosen to discover the effects of the Polyjuice Potion. Draco and Harry are forced to become "lab partners" and turn into each other. The plot of the story beings when they do not return to their own bodies. Throughout the three stories, the reader will discover that there is more than a physical connection between the two boys. For the first time in his life, Draco finds what it is like to be loved as a friend and as a brother. Risking their lives for each other in the quest to destroy Lord Voldemort and Salazar Slytherin, they become dependant on each other.
WARNING: For those of you who are going to think Draco and Harry are in a romantic relationship or for those who have come simply for that form of entertainment, you should leave now because there is nothing romantic between them.
Not only are the familiar and loveable characters such as Hermione, Ron, Neville, Ginny, and Seamus returning, but also more sinister character such as Lucius, Wormtail, and Tom Riddle come back for more. You see the happy faces of Sirius and Remus again as well as learning about the past of Narcissa Malfoy. You will also meet new characters and creatures such as Rhysenn Malfoy, Ben Gryffindor, Gareth Slytherin, demons and dragons.
I must warn you, because the fifth book was not published when this was written, Claire has taken on a dfferent twist. Sirius is still alive, as is Dumbledore. Luna Lovegood does not exsist. Ginny is short for Virginia instead of Ginerva. Fudge is still Minister of Magic and that nasty Slytherin boy Blaise Zabini, is actually a beautiful and mysterious red-headed witch. We have not met Bellatrix Lestrange or Nymphadora Tonks. These are just a few things you should watch out for.
I hope you enjoy this fantastic trilogy and I hope it takes you for as much of a wild ride as it did for me and thousands of other readers across the internet. Feel free to start conversations on the forums. And please do not think just because this site is dedicated simply to the Trilogy. You are welcome to discuss anything and everything on the forums from the original Harry Potter series to the local weather! Meet and greet new friends who have one thing in common with you at least: THE DRACO TRILOGY. |
