The Spirit of the Mountain

 

"Long before the beginning of our time, when there was nothing but sky and water in the world, a spirit made of flaming light fell from the sky in the depths of the sea and from hence it rose again and made our island and the mountain. It brought here plants and animals from all over the world, and when all was ready, it loured a group of humans to the island and gave them the first laws of our society. Ever since, the Spirit of the Mountain has been watching over us, sheltering us from the outside world and from ourselves. But centuries have passed, and the people began to doubt its existence and to twist and bend its laws; and now the Spirit is angry and our world is about to end…"
