Agenda:

1. Review of past activity (Motorcade /Alumni Ball last Feb 8-9,2008):

Chairman Rommel acknowledged the efforts and contributions of all our batchmates who participated in the Motorcade and Alumni Grand Ball. Especially for those who have given their support through their pledges as well as for those whose presence in the Alumni Reunion made the Batch 86 Organization more united and successful. There were 44 members present during the Alumni Ball as compared to 22 last year. Cheers to all of us!!!     

 2. Rommel announced that Mrs. Rizalina Reyes (our high school English teacher) agreed to become our organization’s adviser. Mrs. Reyes is currently one of the directors of the DPA Alumni Association.

 3. Upcoming 2nd Batch 86 Annual Reunion for 2008:
Date     : May 25, 2008  - Sunday
Time     : 2 pm onwards
Venue  : Parkplace Village (1st choice)  c/o Rommel and Arleen Ilas     

or  Maliksi Farm (2nd choice)   c/o Edu Hernandez

 Bring a Gift Raffle: Abled Members (non-compulsory) are encouraged to bring a gift worth at least P300 (but higher amount will be greatly appreciated). Each gift will be given a corresponding number and will be raffled to the attendees during our Batch Reunion. This is one way of sharing our blessings to our batchmates and our token of appreciation for their being part of our organization.
         
4. Fund Raising (Preparation to Host our Silver Jubilee in 2011):

Based on current expenditures, the approximate budget needed to host the Alumni Grand Reunion is P200,000. Hence we need to prepare early for this through fund raising (options: raffle, bingo, waste recycling or pera sa basura, and member contribution).

4.1 Member Contribution:

Amount is set at  P50 /month to be collected quarterly

 Implementation: for old members starting Jan 2008, while for new members – May 2008 (during our 2nd Annual Reunion on May 25)

 4.2 Waste Recycling /Pera sa Basura:

As proposed by one of our batchmates, members are encouraged to segregate their garbage like plastic bottles, sachets, etc. and place them in black bags to be collected and sold to junk shop. The money saved from this project will be donated to our batch fund. The only constraint for now is the method of collection of the recyclable garbage and where it will be temporarily placed prior to selling it to the prospective junk shops since members are all over Imus. Implementation will start once a working formula is made (c/o Rommel and proponents).

 
4.3 Raffle:

A raffle organized by Batch 86 will be implemented sometime December 2008. The initial proposals are:

Cost of 1 raffle ticket = P20, with 10,000 pcs. to be printed for distribution

1 booklet = 10 tickets, hence total no. of booklets = 1000 pcs.

 Gross Amount = 10,000 tickets x P20 = P200,000

Proceeds: 40% for prizes, 20% operating expenses, 40% Batch Fund

Also we will try to get sponsors for the prizes to maximize our profits and collect additional batch fund

 
Preparation will begin April till August  and ticket selling starts Sept to Dec, 2008.

 
II. Next meeting is scheduled on April 5, 2008 -Saturday at 2 pm, DPA premises.

3. Officers Re-Organization :
Since our 2nd Secretary Doris dela Cruz-Pabalan already migrated to Canada, the officers that were present during the meeting unanimously agreed to appoint the Acting Secretary Naria Ilano to be her permanent replacement.

 Also, the Vice-Chair raised the issue regarding officers attendance on every meeting. All Officers present agreed that those who have not been attending without a valid reason should be replaced with batch member/s that are willing and can take the role of an officer of the board.

4. Fund-Raising:
Some proposal regarding our fund-raising in preparation for our hosting in 2011 have been opened during the meeting. Some of the proposals are:
    a. Medical Mission (Operation Hare-Lip)suggested by Edgar P.
    b. Raffle                                                  suggested by Orlie

    c. Pa-Bingo                                             suggested by Orlie/Noralyn
The above proposals will be discussed by the Board ASAP once a formal committee is created that will handle said matters.
