A Note from the Project Management & Staff:

We would once again like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continuing patience and cooperation throughout this entire construction effort to date, and in anticipation of that same support as we go forward.

The new Lake street bridge is expected to be completed by the fall of 2009.

Completed:  Lighting for the pedestrian bridge and the vehicular bridge!

Should you have any questions or concerns, or if you have any complaints and/or inquiries about any other aspect of the Project’s ongoing work, please contact the Project’s Community Liaison, Greg Kisloff, who can be reached at (914) 253-0595 (Monday thru Friday). 3/15/09

HOT ISSUES & GOALS:

  • parking (scanning, ticketing, etc.) having a parking czar to help all of us implement the best parking strategies.
  • pedestrian safety,
  • child safety (bus stops, crosswalks, playgrounds etc.),
  • urban renewal projects and redevelopment (East Post Road corridor),
  • entertainment district/ cabarets, open-containers (alcohol)
  • neighborhood crime watch,
  • creating fun activities and events  [co-sponsored by neighborhood restaurants and companies],
  • improving our sidewalks;
  • improving our parks;
  • creating lecture series with downtown colleges;
  • creating more arts and art events downtown;
  • noise issues;
  • addressing the county in skirting Megan's Law, housing sex offenders
    [in any secure site]  THEN dropping them off unsupervised in our neighborhood
    (within blocks of downtown schools and daycare centers and parks)
