Welcome to Downham Market Spritual Group website. Please read a short piece of history as such about the Group.
Downham Market Spiritual Group has been going for several years now and originally known as the Downham Market Spiritual Awareness Group.
In 2005 two Spiritualists heard the then Organisers were stopping, so offered to take it over, running without a committee being formed and the numbers increased many times with an average of over 300% more. The ages range from Teenagers, to those of Senior Citizen age and this has been put down to the Welcome offered, the Friendliness, new Mediums, plus trying to get reports into the local paper, but not always possible these days due to 'lack of space' so we were told. There is also a local publication that comes out bi-monthly that very kindly print as many articles as space allows and that are sent in on Spiritualism and the Group.
They have their own Healers including Trainees, plus if anybody would like a private reading from a Medium, these is generally one in the congregation on a regular basis and who sometimes does Chair for them.
It is strictly because of problems within other Groups and/or Churches, Yvonne and Brian made a point not to affiliate to any Spiritual Union of any sort and so keep it STRICTLY Independant. They now meet every two weeks at the Wimbotsham & Stow Village Hall at 6.30.p.m.. Please see the Medium List for dates and Mediums booked. All that is asked of anybody attending for the first time, is to go along with an open mind.
On the last weekend of July 2008, Yvonne resigned, leaving a new Group to run it after they considered they can do better. It was then assumed by them that Brian had also resigned, but he had Not.
