Since June 20, 2003
03.13.04-Diane Reeves, a widely-known jazz and pop singer gave the Jazz Choir a clinic. For two hours, the Diane and the choir did jazz exercises and vocal improvisation. Diane also helped out with the charts the choir sings. Practice your parts each day to be more familiar with the song. 09.03.03-School starts. 08.27.03-Change of colors. Folsom Results
3rd Place Ranking out of 9 in the AA division. Led by Enterprise High and El Camino High, Downey seeks stronger results at the next, top competition, Reno Jazz Festival. Congratulations to Denicar Bergancia for winning an Outstanding Soloist Award, for the Rhythm section's Medal Award, and the Jazz Choir's medal award.
Riverside Jazz Festival Results
Downey High had a leading high score with a 98 point level and one with a 68 point level. Downey topped Warren scores. Congratulations to Virgil Rosales for achieving Outstanding Vocal Jazz Soloist.
