words, once they are printed, have a life of their own
-Carol Burnett

What I call 'flickers' are characters that do not have the same type of autonomous existence as Alex, but I am connected to in a way that allows me to catch the occasional flicker of speech or thought or emotion. While they do not feature quite so much in regular happenings there's a chance they could come up here or there, so for convenience's sake here's a quick reference list :3

While I like to think it's relatively self-explanatory, it may in fact not be, so for an equally quick run-down: 'constant' refers to characters I've had for a long time now and used frequently, so that the connection is at least stable; 'temporary' refers to newer characters that for the moment I have a connection with, but that may or may not fade; unless there is a name next to the labelled daemon form, the character does not actually know their daemon, and I have merely taken a good guess.

All are what one would term insourced, or original characters, which means unless they have stemmed from a fandom, all aspects of them can be considered my legal 'property'.

Constant

Andrew "Jester" Barton
age: Early-twenties / daemonform: Tonkinese cat

Jester suits his name. He can be, quite frankly, exhausting if you have the misfortune of being exposed to him for a long period of time, as he is a raging ball of perpetual cheer that is nearly impossible to deter. (And trust me, people have tried.) In a way it's rather startling that he's still alive/unmutilated, as he never seems to take no for an answer, and will push and push and push even the most threatening of individuals just for the sake of his curiousity or amusement. Fundamentally friendly, energetic, and optimistic to the core, if Jester has attached himself to you, you're best to just resign yourself to the companionship. (Tends to cycle between his early incarnation as an Espeon-Pokemorph, and his later as a general catboy.)

Jinx
age: Thirty / daemonform: Fisher (Kezendies)

A rough childhood that lead to a rougher adult lifestyle has created a cold and distant individual who very rarely drops the professional demeanour. Although he has a sense of humour, it tends to be very flat or dry, and the code of honour most in the business claim is held in looser regard. He is not so much confident as uncompromising, and usually makes for an unreliable partner, as he does not view other people with any fondness and therefore has no qualms about cutting all ties and moving on.

Jacob Denham
age: Thirty-four / daemonform: Raven

Not quite a futuristic Robin Hood, Denham is a good man stuck in crappy circumstances, and pragmatic enough to know that sometimes you need to bend the rules. He's not entirely a victim - smuggling was hardly the last option left open to him - but a quietly stubborn streak has kept him on the job for a fair while. He tends to be quite amiable, casual, relaxed, and downright forgetful, but so help you if you try and mess one of his own, especially if you're a Confederate.

Takuma
age: Seventeen / daemonform: Indian mongoose

Quieter than any young adult male really has a right to be, Takuma largely keeps himself to himself, with the exception of a trusted few. He is sharply intelligent, with a combination of excellent spacial awareness and calmness in tense situations often giving him an edge. While self-conscious and more prone to avoiding problems than confronting him, should he be backed into a corner his opponent will find a vicious streak lurking.

Naoki
age: Seventeen / daemonform: Golden retriever

His loyalty is his greatest asset and his fundamental weakness. Naoki's devotion to his friends and family pushes him to try as hard as he can and makes him a valuable team player, sensitive to the needs of his teammates. It also leaves him reliant on them in turn, to the point where he is almost useless in individual work, and emotionally vulnerable. None of this has appeared to have much of an impact on his trusting and cheerful nature.

Temporary

Cheyenne Singh
age: Twenty-three / daemonform: Tasmanian devil

At a glance she makes for a portrait of your standard modern housewife; a sense of style and independance overlaying a homely life. Woe to you if you cross her, however, for she can summon rages with a speed that rivals a teenager on a mood swing. Intensely defensive regarding any comments regarding her marriage or similar choices in life, she covers unhappiness and fear with bristling anger.

Trey Weller
age: Twenty-six / daemonform: Black-billed magpie

A people-person, the kind to walk into a party knowing no one and walk out with a dozen new best friends. Natural charm and wit is offset by cockiness and the willingness to take advantage of whatever situation comes along, and his methods are not always appreciated down at the station. All the same, no one can deny that he's good at what he chooses to put effort towards.

Aloysius "Wish" Hayman
age: Twenty-seven / daemonform: Flying lizard

An overly sensitive child who grew into a finger-tapping perpetually restless adult and exorcises demons partly so he can get a decent night's sleep for the first time in twenty-seven years (he's not entirely sure how far his range stretches, but somehow there always manages to be a supernatural being within it), and partly because it seems the thing to do. While he can come across as not quite all there, he's merely the kind of person who's basically on a constant sensation overload and is therefore prone to being easily distracted, losing track of thoughts mid-sentence, and often repeating himself.
