creator Ian Fleming thought of Moore to play Bond in Dr. No,
but Moore was ultimately thought to be too young in
appearance for the part.

co-producer Harry Saltzman wanted Moore to play Bond in On Her
Majesty's Secret Service after Sean Connery quit the role of 007, but
Moore was still under his television contract with the series The
Saint at the time and thus again had to turn down the role of Bond.
