A little bit about the trainer;
At the age of 26, Travis Hull has dealt with a wide variety of horses. As a matter of fact, he's been around horses all his life. He was raised on a small elk farm in Boone, Iowa, which included a couple quarter horses and a team of percherons. He gained his first horse knowledge and skills from his father, Myron Hull. Myron trained draft horse teams for years. Many teams came from all over the United States. As a child Travis, like his father, decided horses would be a major part of his life forever.
Travis gives gratitued to another man for his handiness with horses. A man he has often refered to as a second father figure, Mr. Verlin Potts. Travis was hired as a young boy to muck stalls, chore, and do any other little odd and end jobs that need to be done. Over a course of time, he worked his way up to the position of assistant trainer. Travis stayed and trained for Potts Performance Horses for over 10 years when he decided to go out on his own. He has experience with many different breeds such as American Quarter Horse, Hanoverian, Thoroughbred, American Saddlebred, Standardbred, Mustang, Cleveland Bay, Apappaloosa, American Paint Horse, and Mules,
Travis is an active board member of the Iowa State Trail Riders, Inc. He's also a member of the A.Q.H.A. He has judge many horse shows at both the local and state level. Along with judgeing, he has shown mules and quarter horses in many disaplines.
Travis also trains and sells mules of his own. Double H Training also has a mule breeding program. Travis has been raising mule colts, sired by a friends jack, for the past 4 years. With only a handful of quarter horse mares, Travis' program was completed in the spring of 2006 with the purchase of a 3 year old red roan mammoth jack of his own.
