Peoples Voice has commenced a recruitment drive to attract members and supporters leading up to the council elections of 2011.
Key policies of the local party are MORE not LESS public toilets. A referendum on the IMAX. British jobs for British workers and an end to E.U. Dictacts. Action on low pay and a freezing of the council tax.
Bournemouth Public Conveniences / Toilet provision
Policy is to increase not reduce the amount of toilets accessible to the public, particularly outside of the town centre. To deliver clean accessible toilets with many free to use. We cannot see why the public should suffer because the local authority would rather embark on a closure programme than deal with the issue of vandalism and misuse. Toilet provision is a basic human right and to deny it places many residents under a great amount of distress and virtual curfew.
Other policies of the party are an end to home repossessions. Provided people are paying something it is surely better to keep them in their homes. Rather than talking to the banks the Government should be telling them that they couldn't repossess.
Curbs on so called debt advice businesses - People are sold extended loans they can't afford, thus worsening the problem. The promotion of by Central and Local Government of alternative financial organisations such as Coastal Credit (Bournemouth Credit Union) and nationally the re-mutualisation of former building societies.
