Child Care

About Me

A little about myself...

I am a wife, in late 30s, mother of three. Ages range from 11 to 16.

I have a passion for caring for children. Now that mine are a little older and have lives of their own to lead, I decided to give the same loving care to others children!

I worked for a local school for a few years as a aide. Although this position was very fulfilling I decided that I could offer more by educating children in my home. What I loved most when working at the school was the little smiling faces, helping children to learn how to solve their problems and teaching them to read.

My life is settled around my family and the care and love I can provide to other children, while tending to them in my home.

A little about my day care:

I provide your child with a place that feels just like home, with lots of room to grow. We learn as we play and we play to learn. I don't focus on what your child can't do. I focus on what we can learn and what they will be able to accomplish in a few short weeks or even months which ever it may take. Our group is small with capacity of six. But that's ok !

My wonderful husband pushing a 3 year old daycare child on the swings.

She adores the attention she gets from Rusty.

In my home, the children will participate in "learning time" where we will discuss the weather, the day of the week, colors, shapes, and letters, we sing and dance, recite poems, learn finger play, and maybe read a book if time allows. Most children (depending on their age) will be learning sign language, and spanish words. I don't force anyone to join learning time. I find the kids ALL adventually end up participating because it's just so much fun. Learning is not a forced issue. I make it fun and easy. Circle time can be 15 minutes up to 30 minutes depending on the length of attention the kids have that day.

Other interest of my family include Awana Clubs. A club for children ages 3 through young adult. We find Awana Clubs a place our entire family can go to have fun, be with friends, learn, share, and help others. You can find more out about Awana Clubs at

http://awana.org

Our Awana Club is located in the church we attend to worship and to fellowship with our Christian family. It is called Stutsmanville Chapel. You can find out a little more on Stutsmanville at ... http://stutsmanvillechapel.org

Other interest are biking, football, baseball and softball, inside games and cards, camping, gardening, working to improve our home, playing with our kids, and just hanging out at home. It is not uncommon for some of the neighborhood kids to be found at our house. We usually have at least one child with us that isn't ours hanging out with us. We love it!

I try to live my life in response to these verses....

Matthew 25:40 "And the King will tell them, 'I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters,  you were doing it to me!'

Matthew 18: 5-6 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Luke 6:31 "Do to others as you would have them do to you."

I would not consider myself religious but I confess to love the Lord Jesus Christ. I respect each and everyone has their own beliefs and do not PUSH mine on anyone, not even children. What influences your child may come in contact with at my home is Christian music playing in the back ground at times and books about the Bible. They may over hear me talking to my kids or other kids who's parents have the same belief as I do about our beliefs. If a child asks me questions about Jesus I respond, "This is how I believe ...." and encourage them to ask their parents what they believe.

Matthew 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Wow that says each child has an angel that has access to God. Wonder what they do there? I believe maybe the angel is telling God of the things we do to these little ones that God holds so dearly
