Ludwig Von Reviews

Ludwig Von: Hello and welcome to the Review Station! Today we will review New SMB! 10 will be the highest score!

Gameplay: 9.7/10.0

NSMB was a very good game. It recaptured the spirit of the original Mario Bros. with a bonus of new enemies and power-ups. There were lots of moves, too. The Blue Shell and Mega Mushroom were my personal favorite of this game. Yes, NSMB was a very good game indeed, but it wasn't how I expected, and that's really OK.

Graphics: 9.9/10

This game had good graphics. I especially liked mario without a Mushroom, since he loked a bit cartoony. Most of the game is 3D, but has falt backrounds that make this game sort of like real-life action. Enemies and other varuious things are 3D to.

New Features: 10/10

New features were great because NSMB adds new but twists it with the old of the original SMB, like a whole new 3D Bowser but the old way to defeat him. Also the Hammer Bros were a great sensation, because they were in SMB 3. The levels added new props such as the bouncy shroom-platforms. The new power-ups were great, like smashing through everything with a Mega Mushroom. Toad Houses were a great hit.

Other:

This part of the review wasn't exactly a score part. So let's just get on with it. Worlds 4 and 7 were optianal and some rookie players would be happy to skip though some worlds, but 4 and 7 had most of the new baddies like those Balloon Boos and the blue dinosuar. Lakithunder (world 7) was my favorite boss. One more thing: I thought there would be Koopalings in this game. I wonder where they went?

Fun Factor: 7/10

The game really didn't have a lot of funny parts, but the beginning showed the story and that was pretty funny, with the crashing. When you beat the last boss, the credits show every level you been in, including boss battles. At the end of the credits, Bowser Jr. is dragging Bowser. I admit, that was my favorite funny part of the game.

Ending Goals:

There's not much to do at the end of the game, but you can play as Luigi. (L+R and then choose file, shows this at the credits.) You can also get Medals and swap them for special backrounds. You can also beat every level in the game and get a infinite Mega-Mushroom Toad House! Enjoy playing!

Ludwig Von: And that was the first review at the review section! See you next time!

 Yoshi's Island Review

Ludwig Von: Hello and welcome to the second episode of the Review Station! Today we will be reviewing Yoshi's Island! And when I say 'we', it means I and Red-Bit 128!

Ludwig holds up a DS. It has a red Yoshi on the screen.

Super Mario 64 DS Review

LV: Welcome to the third review at the Review Station! Today I will be reviewing Super Mario 64 DS. Ratings will be out of 4, which is how many characters you can get.

Gameplay: 3.8 out of 4.0

The gameplay of this game was very similiar to the original Super Mario 64. The only differences were that different characters had different attacks and stats, and you could use the bottom screen to change camera and move. Sure, I had been confused by the new camera view, but it's biggie, the gameplay was good.

Graphics: 3.9

The graphics, again, were about the same as Super Mario 64's. But, SM64DS enchanced the graphics, obviously because it's on the DS. Of course some things just didn't look real.

Music: 1.5 out of 4.0

The music, I'm afraid to say, was exactly the same as SM64's. The only reason I boosted the scores becuase I found the music enjoyable. So, 64 players, get ready for the same Super Mario music.

New Features: 4 out of 4

Super Mario 64 DS had the same moves as SM64, and even more! Super Mario 64 practically has the most moves in the Mario history at that time, and the DS Version adds more moves like egg throwing, a helicopter backflip, and a powerful smack-down punch! A perfect score.

Other:

Aside from the main adventure, there are rabbits plastered around the castle for you to catch! Catching these bunnies can earn you fun touch minigames with different categories you can play! I loved that. But the lack of reward at the top the castle was just blah. Oh yeah, here's the characters you can play as:

Mario: Average, average, exactly like the 64 version.

Yoshi: Actually, you play from him in the beginning! Actually, he's pretty bad, and I like Yoshi!

Luigi: Jump power! This guy can really go up there! My fav. playable character.

Wario: A bit low on stats, but if you want power, I think you'll choose this purple and yellow guy.

Fun Factor!: 3.9 out of 4

It's still a really good game, despite the almost-perfect score. If you never played SM64 for a long time, get ready for a wave of nostalgia when you play. I just lowered the score because the lack of originality.

Replayability: 4 out of 4

Collect all the Power Stars! GO! Even if you beat the game, ya still need to get the Power Stars! Can you get all 150! Good luck!

LV: End of review! Next time I'll review the ol' Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World!

Ludwig Von: He's my virtual pal! He can talk, run programs, surf the Internet, and can do what anybody else can do except he can't get out of the DS.

Red-Bit: Lemme outta here!

Ludwig Von: Ok, I will be adding stuff that I forgot to mention in the other review! Here we go! (Oh yeah, the top score is 10. )

Gameplay: 10.0

LV: Hey, Yoshi's Island WAS good. It had lots of other props that other Mario games didn't have like buckets, donut llifts, and much more. It's a sidescroller game and I liked it. It really does give it an "island" feel.

Graphics: 9.7

RB: The graphics of Yoshi's Island is pretty good, and as Ludwig said, it gives and "island" feel. There are distant backrounds and lots of cool little things. The graphics seem like this is a storybook, sorta, if you know what I mean.

Music: 8.9

LV: The music gets a bit of a point down because there's not really music so terrific as the other Mario games. Otherwise, the music blends in with the stage heavily, giving the levels a lifelike feel. The boss music gets to me after some time, but it is really suitable for boss music.

New Features: 9.8/10.0

RB: Lots of new features have been added, but this is a pretty old game. It does provide the game what it needs, though. Yoshi's egg throwing, new giant spells making bosses giant, getting dizzy, and twisty, loopy stages are all part of the action.

Other:

LV: Baby Mario's crying got to me a lot, and sometimes it gets really annoying trying to chase him and all these enemies are getting in the way. The new time counter gameplay is cool, and Raphael Raven's battle was wicked. There are lots of cool other bosses, too!

Fun Factor: 10! ^^

RB: Yoshi's Island was a great game! It gives a look on what happened before Mario was an adult. it's a really cool game cuz there are lots of new stuff, and there's a portable version of this game! I really recommend it!

Replayability: 10

LV: Even after you beat the game, you can play the Extra Levels that are unlocked after you beat Bowser. The Level 6 Extra is wickedly hard. You can unlock the Bonus Levels on each world. Playing them gave me about 500 lives!

LV: That's all for today! Next time, we will be reviewing Super Mario 64 DS!

RB: Play Yoshi's Island and enjoy it!

Super Mario

I am going to reveiw Super Mario 64. So let's get started, all ratings will be out of 5 stars

Gameplay: *****
The gameplay of this game was awesome. Even though it was the same villain again. You can't get tired of playing it. It is always fun to look for the starts you missed. And I'm still doing so.

Graphics: ***
Graphics were good for the N64 at early age, but still kinda laggy. So I had to take points off of that. But it's the best graphics on the N64.

Sound: ****
Man, I love the tunes of this game. They were such great ones. Such as my favs like the Wing Cap and the Metal Cap.

Fun Factor!: ****
Look down below for the Overall score as this just about how fun it is.

Overall: **** 1/2
This game has to be the best and the first of N64. This game should be fun if you are trying to get all the Power Stars, or just see how fast you can beat it! So I recommend getting this off Ebay if in great condition for this is the best of the N64!

Today I am going to be rating New Super Mario Bros. Everything will be out of 5 stars.

Gameplay ****: Well, Nintendo is back to their old 2D sidescrolling roots in the New Super Mario Bros. and this one is for the DS!

Graphics **** 1/2: This game has lots of good graphics! I only had trouble with Mario's eye, which didn't bother me that much.

Music & Sound *****: You guys can't deny it, it has the best of the best Mario tunes ever! Most of them are remixes of the old music which is cool.

Luigi?: Yes, Luigi is in the game. I'm glad he wasn't left out. You can get the code by finishing the game or right here. On file select, go on a file, then press the buttons in the following order: L+R+A. And Luigi should say: Luigi!

Fun Factor! ***: The game is such a blast from the past and is really fun, I just think they should of added more power ups such as Yoshi.

Overall: Get this game! It is the best. You can spend your time doing the worlds and getting star coins, or be playing Multiplayer. But overall, there is no other better sidescroller for the DS!

I give New Super Mario Bros. a 5 out of 5.
