A Warm Welcome
This past year has been a year of Vengeance--a thriller/suspense novel that has been gaining momentum with readers continent wide. After having been selected in three categories for The Word Guild Awards as a finalist book, Vengeance was chosen as Canada's Best Christian Contemporary Fiction Book and Canada's Best Christian Independently Published Fiction Book. It is a surreal experience to walk onto that stage, shake hands with Herbie Kuhn and turn to face the microphone and a room full of Canada's top Christian writers. And to do it twice is even more fantastic! It is an experience I will never forget. Thank you to The Word Guild for showcasing Canadian writers who are Christian. Thank you to the sponsors who make the awards gala possible. And thank you to the judges for completing an impossible task.
Greetings. Welcome to a place of diversity--a place where you can read reviews I have written for a variety of books, excerpts from my novels, reviews about my books--a place where you can connect with websites that you wouldn't necessarily associated with writing but which tie in after all. It is a place where you can seek out writing tips, share your ideas as I share mine. And, of course, your visit wouldn't be complete without a trip to the guestbook. As a writer, singer and songwriter I know how valuable diversity is. It is what makes the human race fascinating and complex. And it is what makes a good story.

The fall should see the release of my CD entitled Donna-Songs of Salvation. Featuring a variety of music styles, this CD will take you on a journey to the cross. So, as you can see, 2009 looks to be a busy year.
(Are you a teacher who struggles with students who have lost their love of reading? Are video games replacing the novel study? Are you looking for a fun, interactive way to bring writing to life in your classroom? As a creative writing instructor for Fanshawe College, I have a love of teaching writing skills. I would love to come and share the craft of writing with your elementary and high school students. I offer an interactive forty five minute session where the students work as a team to build two characters, a setting and a basic conflict and resolution. I share a brief excerpt of my books in a reading and by doing so show the children that reading is fun. Teachers are delighted that students who formerly had no interest in writing are beginning to write. Once the session is finished, a bookmark is handed out to each student as a small gift.
