This is the part where I big up da illest artists coming out right about now and discuss future contenders for a spot on the Hall of Fame.
Scar (Scary [pronounced s-car-ee]) - Mixtape Maniac
I swear down i never seen dis boy before but but damn, when i met dis negro he was shottin his mixtape on the 250 near Brixton, £2 each, true hustler spirit. He told me his name was Scar (probably because of the bait scar on his face) and I promised I would listen to his mixtape, Mixtape Maniac, and write about it on the site and I think he was just happy for the exposure.
After listening with an open mind, I came to see what a beautifully crafted Mixtape this was. It's all to easy to dispose of UK rap artists as American wannabes but this was different. Reppin Claptown, you get the real sense of a gritty grimey block where the ghetto mentality is just as imminent as well as relevant in today's UK, namely London. Clever use of wordplay and effective flow switches are just some of the expressions of his God-given talent and this guy deserves his Underground credibility. Mainstream may not quite be ready for Scar but with so much promise tied up in future mixtapes, we can but wait for Volume 2.
Top Lines: -

"...Don't be silly, silly, Cos i'll get really busy, and Niggaz wanna use my lines like Picadilly..."
"...Hoe's on me like I'm on TV, cos my dick's long like a white boy's CV..."
