The Libertines & Babyshambles

Only the best band(s) around at the moment and it seems to be all over for The Libertines already. I haven't segregated the Libertines and Babyshambles bits because I would imagine those that love one will love the other.

I think it is important to segregate the music from the various tabloid stories about certain (ex)members of the band. Listen to the music.

General Sites

There are loads of Libertines sites. These include:

Fansites:

MP3s/Videos

1) Downloads of studio tracks from various sites:

Up the Bracket

Boys in the Band

Time for Heroes

What a Waster

Tomblands

Campaign of Hate

Never Never (B side to Can't Stand You Now)

Pete Doherty & Wolfman - For Lovers

2) Andrew Kendall's site has all the various Libertines/Babyshambles sessions to download. You need BitTorrent which seems to put people off but is really easy to use. They have been up for a while now so there may not be many people seeding the torrents but give them a go!

3) Legs 11 (Early demos of by the boys) are available from boysintheband.co.uk:

Seven Deadly Frenchmen

Anything But Love

Hooray For The 21st Century

Music When The Lights Go Out

Bucket Shop

France

Sister Sister

Love On The Dole

4) Check out the various other downloads on boysintheband at http://www.boysintheband.co.uk/downloads.htm

5) Babyshambles.net mp3s to download. These are down at the moment but it is definitely worth checking this link.

6) Babyshambles.net gig videos loads of Babyshambles gigs here.

7) Punkcast videos of The Libertines' gig at CBGB, New York on the 30/04/2003. You can download 3 (really bad quality visually) videos of that show. You can also order a VCD of the entire show. Word to the wise: you can get all the videos on peer-to-peer so save your cash.

8) The French sessions - much talked about, now available to download amongst other things on 'hitdaddy':

01 Narcissist.mp3

02 Half Cocked Boy.mp3

03 The Ha Ha Wall.mp3

04 Through The Looking Glass.mp3

9) Hitdaddy also has mp3s of a performance on Spanish television in 2003 (minus Pete). Definitely worth a listen:

11) Timeforheroes.net has bits and bobs including (this link may not work anymore but best to give it a try):

The Freewheelin' Pete Doherty

12) Everyone's favourite Dutch site has streams of 2 live gigs (one with Pete, one without) and acoustic tracks from Carl.
